I don't have to be black to know that Bill Cosby is right on the money with this. He's neither a race-card player nor an uncle tom, so I'm ruling out political, publicity-related, or other ulterior motives.
I just hope people don't look at this proposition and say to themselves, "What's next? Reparations?" This museum needs to happen for the sake of not just african-americans, but also anyone who has ever been brought down by the man. And I'm not even referring specifically to the white man. I'm referring to slavery in all of its forms perpetrated by persons of all walks of life. We have all played the role of slave trader and slave master at some time in our life.

I'm in.
And I agree with you. This museum has nothing to do with reparations (a bad idea). This museum could be viewed as a gesture of sensitivity and respect ... Although we should not stay mired in bad history, we should not forget about it either.

I will kick in when all of the people in this country who demand reparations for slavery kick in

sigh... there are always reasons to say no...
Thank you for that - I've just made the $50 donation I said I would. I hope they meet their goal and when its built we can go visit the museum someday.

Yep. I'll say no until the people who claim harm from slavery put their money where their mouth is. Give me a reason to say yes, and we'll talk.

He is rich and has a lot of a free time on his hands. I think its a great idea and more power to him if he wants to take an active role in making it happen.
Thanks, I donated $8
