I can honestly say that I have never had a "spiritual" experience. Or maybe I have and just haven't realized it.

It is a pretty vague and broad term isn't it.

A lot of spirituality I've encountered is related to Yoga, and Buddhism and meditation from those two practices.

For me spirituality is about taking what you learn from different sources and using them to grow inwardly as opposed following a fixed religion. I think that the spiritual experiences that you are talking about are probably deep states of meditation that people have experienced.

    Spirituality ??
= socially acceptable belief in the supernatural

If a guy believes that jesus existed and did all that shit society labels him as a "spiritual Person"

if that same guy believes in bigfoot society labels him a nut

I really have no idea. I'm science educated, though I don't work in science, and I learned to look for physical clues for things. probably the closest to a spiritual experience that i had was driving through the mountains with bright sun and glistening ice, listening to crown of thorns.

I've had some very profound spiritual experiences. The first one was 12 years ago. In the midst of having severe, debilitating OCD that had gone on for 5 years, I began to tap into the flow of life in day to day living. The process happened over a period of weeks. I started seeing patterns I'd not seen before. I felt attuned to the wisdom of life. I was having revelations or direct knowing come to me "showing me" why some of the hardships had happened in my life. I started seeing that my severely crippling disorder would go away. I was seeing that it was there for a purpose but that I would heal and that I would in turn become a teacher for others, showing them how to heal. These 'revelations' were completely out of character for me because at the time, my life was depressing, and I had been suicidal for years. Due to the inability of science to effectively gauge the non-physical or spiritual, I was diagnosed as having bi-polar disorder because of these experiences. I was given medication to make them go away.

They didn't go away. My insights and "revelations" grew strong. I started going to libraries and book stores, and I would allow this "flow of life" to direct me towards the right books that would direct me towards the healing I was being nudged towards. Over 8 years, following this loving spiritual guidance in my life and what it taught me, All signs of the very serious mental illnesses, OCD and bi-polar disorder disappeared. These spiritual experiences had directly shown me the way to healing.
