... and then by all means go back to engage each other on how to prevent this bloodshed from happening again, here in New York and all over the world.

Peace be with all those who lost someone.

Feel free to post music that helped you through the dark moments and now helps you remember.

You know all those bumper stickers "we will never forget". Seems to me that we have, atleast a little.

There were so many heroes that day. The response made me proud to be an American.

I'm sure people would have been heroes in any country.
And it seems to me people remember. But maybe it's just because I live here.

what good does being quiet do? the best way to remember is to make sure we get people in office who won't disrespect the memory of those who died by exploiting the tragedy for political and personal gain.
    and like that... he's gone.

Nice Post Meme. It's unbelievable to think of that day now that 7 years have passed and it seems like months. So much has happened since then.

Even as we reflect on the tradgedy of that day and the events since, this is a great time to reflect on what's right with the world and everything we have to be thankful for in our lives. To all who have lost loved ones on that day before and since, my sympathies prayers and hopes to you.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
  • Thank you Meme. Sometimes it's just good to step back and remember the emotions of the time, those lost their lives, and those who risked theirs in the rescue effort.

This was performed at the Royal Albert Hall on September 15th as a tribute.

Notice that my exhortation to be quiet was just for today :)

Today just strikes me as a good time to just be sad and remember those people. But I fundamentally agree with you :)

RIP to my friends John and Lydia who passed that day, and to everyone else that suffered. I still sometimes catch myself unable to believe that everything that happened that day actually happened.

I also hope that soon my mayor and city officials will stop fucking around and start rebuilding and remembering in earnest. I really want to see that area alive again.

This version of The Rising for some reason always brings me right back to being in NYC that day, even though he didn't play it till years later:
