So it's raining, I decide to take my 6 year old child to the movies.
I scout what's on at the nearby theater. Something we have seen, something I could not even tolerate in preview, and this high school football movie. It says it's rated PG for "thematic content", it is classified as a kids/family movie. The blurb says something about "values".
I should have known upon entering the movie theater. I thought no one would be there. This is Columbus OH, the OSU game is not over and the theater is full?! Movie starts. The acting is absolutely pitiful. A few minutes into the movie there is what is supposed to be a dramatic scene, with both the main characters crying desperately and all I want to do is laugh my ass off.
Then it starts... "power of the Lord Jesus Christ" "God I trust in you", people praying, reading the Bible. The football team did nothing but losing games, coach can't have kids and about one and a half hours of prayers and Bible reading later team wins the state championship and coach has two kids. Not before having maybe secured the silence of some abuse victims since "You have to respect authority, no questions asked"
It was painful, but of course I could not take my child home.
Now I feel like I should have been warned. Honestly, I would rather have my child sit through a sex scene than all of this. I realize it's less common than sex, drugs and violence, but shouldn't there be a CR for Christian Right content rating so this never happens to me again?

... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

The title of the movie in question is the title of this thread
We had already seen Open Season and I drew the line at the "Flushing" movie (and previously the eating worms one). I can't stand gross stuff. Although I would have probably taken the latter over 2 hours of catechism.
Hi prism
i havent heard of any of these...
Also, hopefully I wouldn't know about any of these if I didn't have a young child
yeah, i feel pretty out of touch with the real world these days
