Fiscal Conservative...socially more liberal.
Unfortunately, no one like this runs for anything.
I'm thinking about giving up some of my fiscal freedom (and $) and not voting for a Republican this time around. Lots of wrongs on both sides though.hippiemom = goodness0 -

Same here - do I vote with my heart (Obama) or my wallet (Romney).SHOW COUNT: (170) 1990's=3, 2000's=53, 2010/20's=114, US=124, CAN=15, Europe=20 ,New Zealand=4, Australia=5

I'm just sick of fiscal conservatives getting the shaft because Republicans worry more about who's marrying who, etc.
And since the Rep. are suppose to bring fiscal responsibility and haven't lately, maybe I'd be better off with someone that will stop worrying about what people do legally in their free time.
Also, not sure I have confidence in people that have been in Gov't forever fixing Immigration. It makes me sick to hear Hillary talk abotu how we have this huge problem and can't just deport people...why the hell did we let it get to this point???????
I think I'm finding it more and more important to get fresh blood in the Oval office and just see what can happen...even if I disagree with about 50% of what will probably happen, at least something might get done.
I am tired of the Dems and their supporters thinking that taking more money from the so-called "Rich" isn't a big deal...it's a big deal anytime you are tkaing anyone's money. That mentality does scare me quite a bit.hippiemom = goodness0 -

how has this "conservative" administration and its policies worked out for us and the economy...
the economy was at its strongest point of the last 35 years under 8 years of a democratic white house...
i can't seem to understand how you guys (conservatives) keep forgetting this0 -
not to mention a democratic white house balanced the budget... the only time that i can remember...
all you financial guys and anti tax folks better wake up and smell the deficit... republicans since reagan have been building massive deficits while cutting the wealthy's taxes... which in turn will mean higher taxes eventually and a sagging debt ridden economy...0 -

That's cool, not everyone will agree on everything. I just posted it because it was interesting.
It's by far the only plan I've seen economically that will grow the economy in the best way while still taking the burden completely off the bottom income earners. Everyone consumes, not everyone reports earned income... That's a hell of a lot of extra money right there.
We don't have to discuss this though. I think we have ad nauseum already.
Cheers. My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -

I'm conservative on a lot of things, but fairly liberal on a few others. Can't really fit into a nice, neat package. The only people we should try to get even with...
...are those who've helped us.

Perhaps you should read more of what I wrote...I said that the Rep. haven't been good with fiscal responsibility lately.
I'm not for balancing the budget by more taxes though, it's easy to do that.
Please don't forget the Republican Congress at the time you are saying we had the great economy...in reality it wasn't as great as it seemed...it was a mirage...we were fooled by the Tech boom and then bust.hippiemom = goodness0 -
I would fall into this category on most issues. I would consider myself to the right of John McCain, but to the left of, say, Newt Gingrich.everybody wants the most they can possibly get

Yeah, by the time Clinton was leaving office, folks were saying we were headed toward a recession (funny how that stuff tends to work in cycles). I tend to believe the first round of Bush tax cuts bailed us out of that. Now if only he wouldn't have coupled the tax cuts with spending like a drunken sailor on shore leave ...everybody wants the most they can possibly get

I'm a conservative-libertarian. I'm also a Christian, Pro-life and was homeschooled for a large portion of my adolescence. I'm undoubtedly the biggest minority in the Pearl Jam fanbase.
I'm supporting Ron Paul, then I'll switch to Romney, then McCain. This Obama-frenzy is just silliness. The guy is all about making great stump speeches (which I'll admit he does) and generating endorsements from celebrities. He's a completely vacuous candidate whose platform toes the Democratic line down to every dot and tittle. The Republican candidates aren't sexy or politically-correct but at least they are talking about ideas (sort of) and not mouthing-off with generic feel-good platitudes about "change."So this life is sacrifice...

Recessions are cyclical. I don't know why everyone flips out about them. Every 6-8 years our economy goes through one (to varying degrees). Blaming any President for that is ridiculous. So this life is sacrifice...
