I just saw a tv clip online from CNN and it said that half the money going to Iraq is unaccounted for.

they used a few examples...one was a jail that was supposed to be built for 4,400 people or something like that for a cost of 85 million to the U.S. taxpayer. They said...for that $(85 M)...a jail housing 1/4 that number was built.

another example was a group that was supposed to built like 155 clinics...and for all the money we gave them...only 6 clinics had been built.

(i tried to cut and paste a link...but it wasn't working...i found the tv clip on yahoo's homepage if you want to try to find it).

its really sad how tax payer dollars get wasted across the board. I heard many similar examples of waste for Katrina aid.

doesn't surprise me...a year or so ago they said $9 billion went 'missing' in iraq...in 01 they announce 1/4 of the military budget is unaccounted for, as well...and yet we still let them loot the treasury while they cut social spending more an dmore...

I don't understand how people have faith in our government to carry out the massive ideological change in a pre-historic region like the Middle East... yet, can't figure out how a bank account works.

Everybody always complains about wasted tax dollars, but a lot less people actually are for lowering taxes.
The only people we should try to get even with...
    ...are those who've helped us.

Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.

You don't get the correlation, do you?
If you lose money in your household... by, just tossing money out your car window as you drive along the highway... it doesn't mean that your home mortgage, insurance premiums, utility bills and food and clothing needs disappear, too. All of those things still need to get paid for... you understand that, right?
You need to quit tossing money out the window... that's the fix.
