Media's role in these VT/Columbine type things

I was glad to see the thread ripping NBC!

I think the Media has blood on their hands. In fact...about three weeks ago as i saw a special on Columbine...I said to my Uncle...."this is ridiculous...they are glorifying these acts by broadcasting them years after they are over...and making a documentary about them"..."all its going to do is encourage some other deranged person to do something similar".
Its a shame how eery that turned out to be.

There is a Johnny Cash old school western song...and in it there is a line that says something like..."about the man who killed me...never utter his name...and he will fade away"...something like that.

Well...the media today is nothing but a tragedy machine. Why not instead of broadcasting for years and years about serial killers and mass murderers...why don't we instead...leave it to the police...and let their names fade away??? If people know they will have specials on tv about their lives for years, after they are done committing their horrible acts....its only going to encourage this shit! Hey media...why not instead of celebrating the murderers....you celebrate the lives of those who were killed?
when someone cries out for attention by killing people...why don't you NOT give it to them??? (instead of giving it to them in spades?)

I had an ex who is a local newscaster...and she once told me about a time where someone came in and was like "i hope someone got killed today" (meaning they would have something big to report)...she thought it was sick...but at the same time...if that is the mentality for those working in the media....then fuck...something major needs to change!!!

shame on you media and NBC...
The guy made video's...cause he knew they'd be broadcast....wtf!!

    If it bleeds, it leads.

About the only way to stop the infotainment pseudo-news is to not watch it. They depend on ratings $$$$.

I still think the abusive atmosphere in many schools is more to blame than the media.
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.

    inmytree...this is not a censorship thing...lol

these companies are advocating murders... its not a ''dont watch it thing''

they are glorifying murder.. crazy people are seeing these programs and its not every once inawhile..its every day...turn on your 5 o clock news...its all badd..all the time...where violence and murders seem normal...when its so far from the truth..the world is safe...these things are done on a minor scale...virginia tech is what .0001% of the countries population??

they are creating a movie screen world to some people...with diseases and flus and murders and rapes like society is collapsing all around us...when its been getting stronger since the beginning of time...

issue is not solved when the next video is sent in to FOX news..and than a mass murder takes place, because someone wanted to go out in the blaze of glory because they feel normal or below normal or were made fun of..

i used to think, hey its not these news guys faults they just report it...but that isnt the case anymore.

    THE SHOOTINGS ARE OVER

and it lingers on till you can't remember the dead anymore...you just remember the killer and

then it happens again... and again.. on a small scale to us....

but when its in your office building...or school...it seems like the world...and is definitely not on a small scale...

thats been going on forever..and so has violence.

The killer is to blame and anyone else who publicly displays an admiration or spreads glorification of murder. Like a crime boss.

you say it's not a censorship issue, yet you want to censor the news to show only good news...

my point is this, until people stop watching and purchasing the product, the product will stay on the shelves...
