Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

That won't happen here for a while. People are too busy trampling others to death to save ten bucks on a digital camera.

Well, I can imagine the situation's quite ugly... so I wouldn't exactly call it cool. Anyway, I guess it's good to see that the people are doing something. But people generally only act when things get too bad.

Wasn't the Icelandic state in bankruptcy?
And the fact that people only act when things get too bad is as much a blessing as it is a wrong : can you imagine massive revolutions everytime a bunch of people start disagreeing with the country's policies? Not only would it kill all notion of democracy way faster than the american fed manages to, but your country would never develop without the necessary stability.
