  • I agree with just about everything she said in those two clips.

But what does it mean for a political party to fail?

Voting values and following thru by contstantly pressuring our representatives is the only thing that can bring about any real change right now...Unfortunately, it isn't going to work in baby-steps.

Hoping for 5% of the vote, so that four years from now there will be a viable third party alternative is too little too late with the way things are headed...we need real change THIS election.

In a close election, sticking with the prevalent partisan/regional mindset of most people in Canda and the US, both countries are pretty much guaranteed a win for one of two deeply entrenched parties, full of politicians that support the status quo, and specialize in compromising values. (Canada's situation is similar to that of the US, with the added distraction of a 'divided left', and a one-province power broker.)

We need a complete change of mindset....for EVERYONE to abandon the partisan attitude and DEMAND educated, common sense new approaches to the economy and foreign policy, from whoever ends up in power, NOW, for there to be any real 'change' in our countries....hopefully what's happening to the middle class right now will be the wake up call we need; for people to demand a say, instead of placing faith in the leader of 'their side'.....

I love the quote about "Vote your values... not your fears."

People need to really FUCKING EXAMINE their values though. Everyone needs to go on their own little self-examination. Detach it from TV, peer pressure, money, "church" (yes church too... go ahead love Jesus.. just don't follow that fucking pack out of laziness/fear).

Funny part. For some reason it sounds funny/weird when she says I'm friends with Dennis. heh... dunno why it just does.

I like her spirit. We need some more interaction between her and Nader and Paul and Barr and company, imo.

People get all crazy when I say Nader and Paul should "run together", but it ain't that fucking far fetched.
Love is more important to me than faith.

agreed....this is why I thru the word 'educated' before 'common sense' in my rant above...

I also agree that all of the politicians in your post above should collaborate to gain more influence in Washington. I think that they all have different approaches to the same core values.

side note related to your religion comment: Know what I really wish? That there was never a need for abortion...if that one fucking argument could be taken from politics, it would be sooooo much easier to separate the church and state.

Peter Rodman, a foreign policy expert who served every
Republican president from Richard Nixon to George W. Bush, including as an
assistant secretary of defense for nearly six years in the current
administration, died Saturday in Baltimore. He was 64.

The cause was complications of leukemia, said Danielle Pletka,
vice president of foreign and defense policy studies at the American
    Enterprise Institute.

Rodman was lured into government by his senior thesis adviser at
Harvard, Henry Kissinger, then the national security adviser, and he became
Kissinger's aide in negotiations that included opening ties to China, peace
talks on Vietnam and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

LETTER FROM YORBA LINDA #66 | July 10, 2008 Touring with
    the White House
    By Tom Borcher

Tom has been a member of the Nixon Library Docent Guild
since 2002 and is a practicing attorney in
Los Angeles with Jacobs, Jacobs & Eisfelder.

White House history being a "hobby" of mine, one of
the biggest thrills in my five years as a docent at the Richard Nixon
Library & Birthplace was when John Zweifel's Miniature White House went on
display in 2004. ("Miniature" in this case being a model 70 feet by 30
feet.) I developed a forty-five minute "tour" of the model including the
history of both the model and the "real" White House." I enjoyed giving the
presentation to our guests on weekends and holidays. The day came, however,
when John rolled it into his distinctive semi-truck for other destinations.

When I learned that the model was to be displayed
at the George H. W. Bush Library in College Station, Texas, I asked them if
I could give my presentation there. Based largely on some kind words by
folks here at the Nixon Library, I was invited to Texas over the Memorial
    Day Weekend in 2007.
