Fuck it. Lets go with "Obama The Flip Flopper"
Hell, why not.
Everyones doing it these days.
IF YOU FIND NEW CLIPS OF OBAMA BLATANTLY FLIP FLOPPIN, POST EM!
IS THIS "COMPROMISE"?
or bullshit?
Obama Blatantly Flip-Floppin On DC Gun Ban & Second Ammendment - Pretty fucking scary for a "constitutional lawyer" to not be able to flesh out a tenable position on something as straight forward as "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED"!

Blatant Flip Flopping on Troops in Iraq - puh-lease!

Obama flip-flopping on Welfare Reform

Serious Flip-Floppage over Iran -- funny shit. HAHAHAH.

Flopp-i-dop on Cuba embargo and again

FIVE SOLID CASES OF FLIP-FLOP-ITIS

Lets see how big we can get this list.

[edit: a MASSIVE COLLECTION OF FLIP FLOPS]
Then maybe we can see how this is justified as all simply being "smart compromise".

You know, OBAMA ISN'T DUMB. ;)

Clearly. He is a clever, kniving, son of a gun.
up up up and down. turn turn turn around.
round round round about,
and over again.
:sigh:
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

I like this idea. But fear that the message pit does not have the bandwith for such a thread. (would be Bandwidth right?)

anyway, I think we should come up with a better name. Flip Flopper is so '04 Kerry.

I kinda thought that was the point.

All these yahoos running around preaching the gospel of the coming of the NEW BREED of honest politicians with integrity, intelligence, and respect.

Unfortuantely he has proved himself as NOTHING NEW.
Hence, "flip flop" ... JUST LIKE THE REST.

    Get it?
    :D

Of course I get it! lmao!

Just that the term/name reminds me too much of Kerry, regardless of the fact that Obama is also one of those floppers.

I guess it doesn't matter anyway, should be a fun thread.

John McCain is just as big of a flip-flopper. I'm not pro-Obama, but I'm sick as shit of people not being truthful about both candidates.

Good thread, Driftin'. Wasn't he against the Patriot Act, but voted for its continuation? Or did he vote for its continuation, and then decide he was against it? It is always hard to remember if they flipped before they flopped.

Oh give me a fucking break.
    This thread wasn't about McCain.

    We've been over this.
There are like 3 people on this whole board who are going to vote for McCain.
But there are dozens who think Obama is the coming of christ.

"not being truthful about both candidates" ?!?!
    WHAT THE FUCK?
    This thread was about Obama.
    Check the title.

I didn't say dick about McCain,
and i'm sure anyone with half a brain can figure out that he is a flip-flopper,
but i'm trying to point out to the liberal cheerleaders that "their" boy is equally pathetic in the "commiting to a position" department.

    hahahahaha
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

It is very easy to see how blatantly opportunistic he is, particularly on this issue.

In June he was very clear on his opposition to drilling. In actuality, his opposition makes sense. Drilling is NOT a short term solution due to how long it takes to get it to market.

Here Obama is in early June, EMPHATICALLY blasting offshore drilling, he actually PROMISES not to do it...

“And when I am President, I will keep the moratorium in place and prevent oil companies from drilling off Florida’s coasts,” Obama says. “That’s how we can protect our coasts and still make the investments that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil and bring down gas prices for good.”

On June 16, McCain comes out in favor, which was a pretty risky position. Many "pundits" immediately believed this position would backfire and possibly cost him the election....(http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080617/pl_politico/11154)

A month later, and McCain is leading in some swing states for what many believe is his position on offshore drilling, and 52% of Americans say that energy policy is a more important issue than Iraq. (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2052302/posts)

Without a an ounce of shame, days later, and obviously because of poll results, Obama completely shifts his position and tries to co-opt McCain's position, while trying to argue it was "nothing new".

It's incredible that a lot of people fail to care about this. Both candidates have changed their mind on certain things, but when McCain changes his he's way more likely to just say he was wrong (Martin Luther King Day) or that he's learned more (drilling, Iraq). Obama tries to pretend as if that was what he was saying to start with.

Obama doesn't have the experience level to be able to withstand the scrutiny of saying he had made a mistake. He has to maintain this position of smiling infallibility....

I recall him doing a 180 degree flopperoni regarding using federal campaign funds. Oh, he had lots of excuses about why he flipped, but flip he did.
