I like the part that describes being a "latter-day prophet". I haven't wept since my mother died 15 years ago, but listening to Ron Paul speak made me cry like a baby not long ago. =PNo need to be void, or save up on life

Just caught the tail end of a Glenn Beck discussion with an independent pollster.
They were pondering Guiliani and Clinton facing off,
but then Beck through out the comment "I think somebody like a RON PAUL could make a good third candidate!"

Well,
just after Glenn Beck mentioned Ron Paul in a seperate segment last night (see above), he went on to do a complete TEN MINUTE segment called "THE RON PAUL EFFECT" ...
it wasn't ALL good ... he did say the usual "ron paul supporters kind of scare me ... just a little ..."
... and he had some commentator lady who seemed like Ann Coulter Lite ... and they both sort of agreed that Ron Paul had a great message, but that his delivery was weak ... not that he was a poor speaker ... but that his stance was so meek that he risked being viewed as a sissy ... that he really had to go in and bust some balls ...
REPUBLICAN DEBATE TODAY!
That was the other thing they discussed.
ANOTHER REPUBLICAN DEBATE TODAY!If I was to smile and I held out my hand

Ron Paul interview with Chris Matthews UP NEXT on MSNBC -- 7:30PM -- Oct 9th.
The Debates are not aired live tonight, so these are post debate interviews, even though the airing is at 9pm!If I was to smile and I held out my hand

Hmm.. I'd say it takes bigger balls to say what he is saying than to tow the party line like every other candidate. No need to be void, or save up on life

Ron Paul in the US House of Representatives, January 9, 2003
Mr. Speaker, I rise to restore the right the founding fathers saw as the guarantee of every other right by introducing the Second Amendment Protection Act. This legislation reverses the steady erosion of the right to keep and bear arms by repealing unconstitutional laws that allow power-hungry federal bureaucrats to restrict the rights of law-abiding gun owners.
Specifically, my legislation repeals the five-day waiting period and the "instant" background check, which enables the federal government to compile a database of every gun owner in America. My legislation also repeals the misnamed ban on "semi-automatic" weapons, which bans entire class of firearms for no conceivable reason beside the desire of demagogic politicians to appear tough on crime. Finally, my bill amends the Gun Control Act of 1968 by deleting the "sporting purposes" test, which allows the Treasury Secretary to infringe on second amendment rights by classifying a firearm (handgun, rifle, shotgun) as a "destructive device" simply because the Secretary believes the gun to be "non-sporting."
Thomas Jefferson said "The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is inherent in the people; ...that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed." Jefferson, and all of the Founders, would be horrified by the proliferation of unconstitutional legislation that prevents law-abiding Americans from exercising their right and duty to keep and bear arms. I hope my colleagues will join me in upholding the Founders' vision for a free society by cosponsoring the Second Amendment Restoration Act.

Wow.
We got 69Charger on board, no shit !?!
I think Dr. Paul offers a "little" something for everyone.
Who doesn't want income tax completely abolished ?!!?
Who doesn't think it is our right to have guns?
Who doesn't think we need a smaller government?
A MUCH smaller government?
etc etc ...
I think the most telling thing during MSNBCs broadcast lastnight came at the very end of the post-debate interview with Ron Paul ...
Chris Matthews said
"Well, Congressman Paul, you sure seem to have the support of a LOT of Americans ... not necessarily Republicans, but the support of lots of independents and even many democrats ... in any event, you have the support of a LOT of Americans, and I dare not say I'm one of them."
What the FUCK do you think that means?
I interpret it to be "yeah, i really agree with you. The SYSTEM is fucked. We need to scrap it and try again on constitutional principles. HOWEVER, my job is paid for by the system, and if i came right out and supported you, i'd be fired quicker than if i came out gay in the military!"
I DARE not say i'm one of them!
Typical Americana these days.

He is only a Republican in name , not in idealogy. His beliefs are more closely allied with Libertarians. In the past he ran for president on the Libertarian ticket, but in an interview he did on the Daily Show he stated that the only reason he is running as a Republican is because 3rd party candidates are shut out during presidential elections. They are excluded from national debates, excluded from ballots on many states. The majority of your time and effort is spent just trying to get on the ballot in all 50 states.
With that being said Republicans are not the bad guys. Democrats and Republicans are the bad guys. They both fucking blow."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0 -

I agree with him 100%. It is impossible for a 3rd party candidate to be heard in this country. The Reps and Dems have a monopoly over government."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0 -
ron paul is a bit full of shit when it comes to the free market thing... i havent really seen him challenged on that or expand on that very much... it is a nice idea and all when put forward in 30 second sound bytes...but like most free market supporters they offer little idea/discussion as to how it would actually work
i think the bush administrations push to privatize everything has been a great example of how flwed free market theory can be0 -

Actually if you have ever heard him speak to some extent he is not proposing that everything be handled through free markets. He has stated on several occastions that such programs as Medicare, Mediaid, and Social Security would not be privitized simply because of the amount of trouble and work it would take would not be beneficial. He would look to ways to start rolling back these programs into some sort of privitization for future generations."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0
