So they finally come here, and I'm missing Pearl Jam... for Pearl Jam

So yeah, going to Bonnaroo. Leaving Wednesday night from Tampa. That basically means no Florida shows for me.
Kind of a bummer but I'm excited for 'Roo.
Anyone else in my predicament?
And they better fucking kill at Bonnaroo.

that sucks
no more shows
I still haven;t heard Down and I've been to 23 shows since 1992. Granted, Down wasn;t written then, but I've been to several since it was and I still haven;t heard it. Maybe I can at least get that outta Bonnaroo. :0)
Well... Metallica (novelty), Lesh, & Allman's will be cool too..
I'm pretty sure if you scroll down you'll find 06 boots.

I kind of assumed there would be a tour along with Bonnaroo... I just didn't think they would schedule the tour so close. I mean 'Roo starts on Thursday, which is the night they are playing in Tampa. They have to know people are traveling for that thing. But oh well. Hopefully it's a good show, they get like 3 hours to play and I know people going to Bonnaroo (and the band) are supposed to be pretty psyched about it. So hopefully it's worth it.
im locked in on bonnaroo
cant spend much more on the tour
unless somebody wants to lend me a few grand
So why be satisfied?
oh that blows
u should of listened my ny friend i told u in feb.

We are actually thinking of SC on the way home. It would be a 6 hour drive Monday, get a hotel, sleep as much as possible, then go to show and drive home (12 hours from SC) on Tuesday. Now that tickets are still up I am honestly considering it. Just have to convince my partner to want to do the same. He's not so willing now, but will curse me for not just going ahead and doing it anyway;), probably when we are driving home from Roo on Monday!

I'm with you. There were too many rumors for them not to play other shows, and you had to know they would be close together. It's only logical.
I went to Toronto in 2005 because I wanted to see Pearl Jam...and Toronto! Lucky enough to have gotten Philly 2005, but not Atlantic City. Happy with what I was able to do, and had the bonus of visiting a new city I always wanted to go to. Saw the Leafs too! So I was not disappointed in my choices.
Toronto was a biggest hits (with bonus of Bono) and Philly was the rarities. Best of both worlds I say.
Europe got more shows than the South in the past 5 years.... try living in the South....
Europeans have absolutely nothing to complain about at least for quite sometime so the "try live in Europe" doesn't work no more
Well I guess that in his case his got the VIP tix so missing anything at Bonnaroo would be kinda screwey after paying all that money.
My best friend was going to roo and now she is doing both FL and selling her roo tix.
Oh I am with you, I knew there would be more shows, I was just hoping I would be able to make it to one more. I wasn't expecting it to be quite so inconvenient.
I am contemplating West Palm and SC. But I can't pull the trigger on those until it gets closer, which shuts me out of ten club tickets.
Oh well, not really bitching. Honestly I would rather see one Bonnaroo than two standalone PJ shows. Bonnaroo has a lot to offer me, but I feel bad for people that bought tix just for PJ.
I just kinda loved the irony of them FINALLY coming to my state, and I can't see them when they play 20 miles from my house.
totally understandable. the odds were against ya having them play in florida since it's been so long anyways.

Uh, ok I'm not getting into a "my life sucks more than yours!" argument with you but Europe is a big place. Not everyone is willing to pay large amounts of money to travel the world just to see a band.
lol. Not to take any credit away from anyone or anything, but I'm pretty sure some distances if not most distances between shows in the Southern region of the United States are equal or greater than distances between shows in different European countries
It's a big place.

It's not a "typical" festival.
I was in the same boat - but i made my decision Monday morning - Im selling my Roo tickets on ebay for face value and going to FL shows - couldnt miss two tour shows for one festival show. I am sure Roo will kick butt and I really wanted to see Jack Johnson and Robert Plant & Allison Kraus, but I need an Ed Fix Bad!
I bet those tickets will be given away after PJ is done announcing a tour!
what he said man.
you (the jeagler) obviously don't know too much about bonnaroo. this is also in the middle of nowhere. there are no curfews and bands play into the wee hours of the morning. if anything, this has the potential to be the most epic set of their career. Radiohead's certainly was one of, if not the longest of their career in 2006.

That was indeed the longest Radiohead show ever.
And I am not one of those people just going for Pearl Jam. When I sit back and look at that lineup, there are so many bands that I love and haven't seen (Or haven't seen enough).
I just wish the logistics of the tour had been a bit different.
