The president can use troops to KILL YOU, a citizen of the USA!
He would control ALL ESSENTIAL NATIONAL FUNCTIONS from federal and state, down to local, and even PRIVATE CORPORATE functions ...
it gives the president the right to USE TROOPS AGAINST AMERICAN CITIZENS!
Congress would have NO POWER OF OVERSIGHT.
He would control the entire army AND THE US National Guard ... traditionaly run by state government.

He will control EVERYTHING, the state militias, troops to silence YOUR OPPOSITION and SUSPEND ELECTIONS INDEFINATELY

This is absolutely heinous!

I'm mad. And I'd bet some serious cash on GWB suspending elections sometime between now and next November. I fucking hate every member of congress that voted for the patriot act. These assholes give King George whatever he wants. I guarantee most of them still haven't read the patriot act to this very day. But like I've said before...Americans are lazy as fuck so maybe they're true representatives indeed.
