is this a message board for a ROCK N ROLL band or Knitting/Crocheting club. If you are offended by the word douche you have a lot of growing up to do (regardless of how old you are).

There's a difference between being offended and simply thinking 'grow-up, pothead'. I mean... that word is so gay.

Hi back. Yep, that was my first post. I have been sitting in the background for a while trying to figure out the rules and norms on this kind of web site. Don't seem to be many so I thought that was as good a place as any to throw in a non-sequitur. Maybe I just didn't see the "introductions" string but on other sites I visit more actively, they just get ignored anyway. But I am somewhat of a fan although I have not been to any of their concerts, I just go with the dvd's and live cd's. However, I am old enough to have seen Keith Moon play live if that means anything.

Kind of like the word 'gay' as a derogatory term?

Exactly. I'm sick of people on the internet telling me what "language" is appropriate to use and when. Some people are so self-righteous when it comes to language.

In another thread somewhere, Nowayimfaithfull tried to ask people not to use the D word, out of respect for the ladies--and I thought that was really cool of him to ask. he's getting ripped for asking people not to use a term that many people consider derogatory...there's something wrong here.

is this a word that you say to your mom? the way I figure, if it's not an appropriate word to use in front of my mom, it's not being said to others--I think that's good manners or something. I'm 29 years old, and respect the people i'm talking to--even if I disagree with what they're saying.
