Did she call her on the stem cell "support" ad?
And from the clips I've seen Palin got ripped apart by her own lack of knowlage. Wow no wonder she doesn't do interviews

Couric: You've said, quote, "John McCain will reform the way Wall Street does business." Other than supporting stricter regulations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac two years ago, can you give us any more example of his leading the charge for more oversight?

Palin: I think that the example that you just cited, with his warnings two years ago about Fannie and Freddie - that, that's paramount. That's more than a heck of a lot of other senators and representatives did for us.

Couric: But he's been in Congress for 26 years. He's been chairman of the powerful Commerce Committee. And he has almost always sided with less regulation, not more.

Palin: He's also known as the maverick though, taking shots from his own party, and certainly taking shots from the other party. Trying to get people to understand what he's been talking about - the need to reform government.

Couric: But can you give me any other concrete examples? Because I know you've said Barack Obama is a lot of talk and no action. Can you give me any other examples in his 26 years of John McCain truly taking a stand on this?

Palin: I can give you examples of things that John McCain has done, that has shown his foresight, his pragmatism, and his leadership abilities. And that is what America needs today.

Couric: I'm just going to ask you one more time - not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation.

Palin: I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you.
  • what more needs to be said of someone who is running for president than they are maverick leader? thats a legit answer to any question she will ever be asked about mccain.

    we are in trouble.

I didn't listen to much but what I caught of the interview the last few bars, but I did think it was rather odd. that it looked like there were only 2 people on some street with a bunch of barricades. I was just thinking to myself, these two people... that's it? They are just chatting it up in the hours before some event eh? What the hell was that? Where was the entourage on both sides?

I've been largely unimpressed with Palin in an interview setting, it sounds like she is nervous, sticks to what her coaches told her to say and isn't very candid. It's been long enough now for her to know some specifics when prompted. Not just basic bullet points.

There are ways to handle those questions and still champion his stance with generally less regulation. Hell you could site some regulation and government intervention as a big part of the problem. She sort of bombed that one too. They should probably pull her from the interview circuit.... hell Biden as well. They have been an embarrassment lately.

It's just interesting the McCain/Palin campaign people can't seem to prepare them for these questions... um it's Katie Couric, it's not like it's that hard to tell what she's going to ask.

This American is waiting to see what congress is going to do Sarah. I could care less about the potential canidates except for thier obvious AWOL senate status during thier campaigns... we'll have plenty of time to disect and trash thier first 100 days later on.

i think Palin should walk down the road to the bridge to nowhere, build a house, hunt a moose, gut it, clean it, freeze it, hunker down for a long while & really think about what she stands for. because it seems she has no idea. she's their alaskan puppet.

I only caught one bit, but I was stunned. She was asked about the campaign manager's money from Fannie and Freddie, and she practically answered: "he recused himself, I am hoping that's enough". When pressed by Couric, she repeated the exact same few words.

I'm beginning to think that Palin's inadequacies, which are further shown in this interview, are a big part of why this whole "suspend the campaign" scam is happening. How is she going to handle a debate next week when all she can do is (barely) recite the sound bites the campaign has given her?

That debate is going to be some awkward tv. I'm actually nervous for her. (And yes, this comes from a person who wants to see her fail! lol)

  • Now I know that there are countless things to learn and get up to speed on, but I would think that one of the first things that you would do, is get back up on what is in the stump speeches.

The candidates give basically the same speeches/punchlines on every campaign stop, if I was added to a ticket as a VP, the first thing that I would ask for is information to back up the claims that we are making everyday.

And a good politician when asked about something that they don't know, they can deflect the question or change up the answer to fit a similar question. She just repeats the exact same lines, or like at the end, just comes up blank and makes it seem like a joke.

You can tell she has been able to get by her whole life with that lttle shake of her hair and the pretty smile when she gets pinned down at the end there. I wonder if Putin will cave under her charm.

one thing I have noticed ... her accent gets far more pronounced when she is flustered ....

Bush doctrine ..... "And how do you mean Charlie?"

    Couric, McCain's accomplishment ..... "I'll get that for ya ... "
