    Also, this 60 minutes video describes how subprime lending isn't even the real cause of the crisis. Rather, it was the credit default swap investing market, which was an insurance scheme that provided a false "guarantee" for subrpime mortgage backed securities that brought down ALL of the major banks that needed to be bailed out, which ultimately led to the crisis.

    Credit default swaps are totally unregulated thanks to the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000, which was pushed through the house by Phil Graham among other morons, who was John McCain's financial advisor until 2007.
