We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.
"That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.
SAY WHAT??!!?? Since when did we decide to let other countries make our lives for us? Until they pay for my bills I'll put my thermostat at whatever setting I choose and I will eat whatever I like.
For all this talk about him deciding the oil companies make too much well go ahead and punish them. All you will be doing is punishing every middle class person who has a 401k. The big companies will still get their money.
I can't believe there are people who would vote for Bush and Obama.

We let other countries make our lives for us as soon as we decided to let OPEC be our primary oil source instead of looking in our country and for oil and not using our countries resources to develop and invent new resources for transportation.
The worlds resources are limited in the sense that at a certain point you can only "harvest the earth" at a certain rate so to speak. As more nations come out of poverty, the west will have to learn to share the earth's resources. Namely oil amongst everything else imaginable.. The sad thing is we still got the elites taking from the top, while additional sharing must occur at the bottom.
The candle is burning at both ends.
Abolish the Fed, Abolish the IRS, create sound currency/wealth, stop unnecessary spending both overseas, and at home.

He also attacked McCain's plan for a gas tax holiday to cope with rising pump prices, which Clinton supports, as well as his other environmental plans, saying the Republican had consistently opposed fuel efficiency standards.
"For him to come to Oregon as an environmental president, but his big strategy is to do more drilling and to have a gas tax holiday for three months, that's a phony solution," he said.
Pitching his message to Oregon's environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to "lead by example" on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.
