What if the $700 Billion bailout doesn't work?

I was just reading an article on Yahoo that brought this up. What happens if Congress pass the bill but it doesn't work. I haven't really heard any one bring this point up yet in the media or any of the politicians.

Us on this board talking about it is one thing but no one in government is talking about it. When asked President Bush said it can't fail. Well that's not a good answer. Will the government nationalize all the banks? What plan does the government have if this bail out does not work?

  • Instead of bailing out these rich fucksthat got us in this position in the first place wouldn't it be much more reasonable and economically feasible to kick the 700 billion back to the homeowners and THEN....

    and THEN.....

    and THEN

let the banks compete for the return business as would be more appropriate for a CAPITALIST society.

that's the way I see it

Let's go hunt us some Polar Bears and shoot us some wolves.
  • The part of this whole intervention/bailout that I really don't like, well, I don't like any of it, but I digress, is the inability for any review to take place by the courts or any other agency, for that matter.

This is beyond a(nother) mere transfer of power to the Executive, it's a transfer of unchecked power to...the freakin' Treasury Secretary???
