This is a comment that McCain's campaign manger, Rick Davis, said yesterday. Do you agree or disagree?

    I was ready to write No No No, and then I remember reading something years ago about how Bush won because he was the kind of guy you'd like to have a drink with. (Not an AA joke.) And that's why he won. Twice.

    And that's fucking scary, I'd rather vote for the smartest person. The person with leadership qualities. Who won't put us into bullshit wars.

    Let's not foget the smears of McCain himself during the primararies in 2000 .... claimng the McCain's adopted daughter form Bengladesh was a illegitimate daughter fathered by McCain ...

    Scary to think of, scarier to believe that it really seems to be true. The last two elections seem to have been won on soundbites and personality, just enough info for the masses to digest, plus if you say something enough times there is a % of the population who will take it as fact.

    OOoHHHh how quickly we forget, I can recall how vicious Bush was to McCain in those primaries. Yet last night he was trying to be so gracious and kind when he doesn't mean any of that shit. Bush made up all kinds of shit about McCain to get into that office which eventually did.

    That's definitely a true statement. That's part of the reason the election process in the US is broken...the majority of voters don't vote based on issues that are important to them. Look on Gallup's site and see for yourself.
