Here is a good article by Matt Taibbi, from the latest issue of Rolling Stone, about campaign finance and how the FEC just isn't doing it's job.

    ...with the side note that Congress dragged their feet in filling vacancies on the FEC until well into the campaign season.

    Yes, thank you, I forgot to mention that part. I love how McCain was against immunity for telecomm companies that where involved in Bush's illegal wiretapping. These same companies dumb millions of dollars into his campaign and all of a sudden he supports immunity and praises their actions.
