Is it just me or is Ahmedinejad looking for trouble? I mean he knows that Israel, and in some circles the U.S. is chomping at the bit to bomb the shit out of them, and it's as if he's taunting. "Look at us with our 3,000 centrifuges, isn't that the magic number you minions of Zion?! Come get us you motherless pigs". I'm not sure why he'd publicly discuss these things. So great, he gets more sympathy, more people hating American and Israel, yet his nuclear program, the facilities at least, will be destroyed.

some people say we're playing into his hands if we attack him, that it will cause more U.S. hatred.

then again, you see him thumbing his nose at everybody and "mocking" them as you say.

my question is - how much does he care for his people? if he's willing to keep spouting shit until somebody (prob israel) bombs his ass, it doesn't seem as if he gives a damn if his people die.

the dude is in a holy war against the west and israel.

The thing with Iran is that the majority of the population wants a pro-western style democracy. An attack on Iran would only cause a portion of those people to change their views and side with the Iranian government. We and Israel are doing exactly what he wants us to do which is continue to portray ourselves as the aggressor.

they talk shit in the middle east because they know big brother will back them up.. i think we should tell them they have caused this turmoil themselves by attacking and declaring invasions on bogus causes.

Keep on rockin in the free world!!!!

The economy has polarized to the point where the wealthiest 10% now own 85% of the nation’s wealth. Never before have the bottom 90% been so highly indebted, so dependent on the wealthy.

Well attacking a nuclear facility is not really putting a lot of people at risk. It's not like the US or Israel would bomb civilians sites.

Would Israel even need any back up? From what I understand they have one of the best trained armies, and with the manditory military service for men and women it is pretty big. Plus they already have their own nukes.

but it is putting some at risk.

the flipside - if no civilians are killed, the nukie plants destroyed, wouldn't that make the pro west folks even more pro west?

well, it's where Jesus was born. the Holy land

i read somewhere that the people there were surprised by our country's support during some conflict or another.

it's their army, we just give them a lot of goods.

One word. Propaganda. Iran will twist the facts, pretty much like we do to unite the popublic against Israel and it's big brother, us. Look at what happened to Bush's approval rating after 9/11.

And Americans aren't being put at risk?

    hmm...

No sweat off who's ass? The term chicken hawk comes to mind.

The current line of America's aggression and policy will be it's ultimate downfall and those "in the know" already realize it's coming to fruition..

    sweet post!

I hate using child terminology and elementary ideas but they are relevant today because of the behavior of our government.

No country or Gov't is perfect.. We are no exception...so enforcing and strutting around the globe trying to get all these leaders and their people to straighten up to be exactly like us is like signing our own death certificate.

kids can only tolerate a bully for so long before they realize not only is the biggest problem also the biggest power, but on top of that.. defeating the biggest problem means huge rewards for the entire world and that is what is going to happen... just like it would in a school yard..

its a matter of oppurtunity cost at this point

nobody said americans aren't at risk...iran is a big funder of terror.

We are more at risk from the actions of our own government than from Iran's actions.

I think that's the misconception of the day. How is American soil at risk from Iran?

All of the sudden Iran is the enemy. It's so transparent it's laughable.
