Well this is one tragedy that no one can blame on the US.
Orginally she was allowed to leave the country, prior to her house arrest, but the myanmar junta would not let her back into the country if she left. She decided to stay and that is when she was placed under house arrest. Now she's not even allowed to go out to her front gate to speak with supporters.
Thanks for that mammasan. I knew she couldn't talk to anybody yet waved to the protesters the other week. I just didn't know if she could leave or not. By her staying it says a lot for the circumstance that the country is under.

over specific principles, goals, and policies.

Not much for the media to report since there is basically a complete information blackout. The myanmar government has basically isolated the country and blocked any information from getting out.
