Who would have thought that by educating people on safe sex and access to birth control you could reduce the amount of unwanted pregnancies hence reduce abortions.

    Yes it is amazing what a little education and lack of a welfare system will do for pregnancies.

  • Abstinance programs do work, when taught along with proper birth control use. Kids are highly influenced by what they see and hear. Abstinance programs make it ok for them to not want to go along with peer pressure and engage in sex before they are ready.

    i dont think anybody is saying teaching about abstinance is bad.... but rather, teaching ONLY abstinance doesn't work.

    I agree.
    And even though I support a womans right to choose, I think we can all agree a drop in abortions is a good thing.
