It is sad but this is the future of Iraq. What was once a fairly liberal city, by Middle Eastern standards, is now a bastion of ultra-conservative fundamentalist Islam in Iraq.
...
P.S. Dear President Bush,
Next time you decide to take us to War... please, do some fucking research. Not all War's outcome are based upon you hoping for the best.
...
P.S.S. And next time... don't ask Jesus for a battle plan. He's great and really smart for so many things... but, honestly... He kinda sucks when it comes to widespread bombing of cities and killing and shit like that.
Hail, Hail!!!
this is what really has pissed me off about this administration. I saw a interview with cheney (forgot the year, obviously before 03) where he warned against shittes and sunnis fighting. he was almost making a perfect case on why not to go to war. but they went to war anyway. dipshit
During the first Gulf War people like Cheney and Powell where stating how difficult it would be to control the sectarian animosity in Iraq if Saddam was ever toppled. How it would take at least 500,000 troops to occupy the country. A decade later they tell us we can do it with a 1/4 of the troops and we will be greated as liberators and the whole fucking country will be a giant love fest. BULLSHIT!!!
But the foot is in the door now.
I guess they achieved their goals of making tons of fucking money for their friends. Fuck the troops, fuck the Iraqis, and fuck our kids and grandkids who will be paying the bill for this war.
And then some. You have the illusion of an enemy guised in a term (terrorism) that surely won't go away anytime soon. Tack on the fact that anybody in the middle east who wants to go nucuular will be bombed and "dealt with" I can't see the US going home anytime soon.
Of course the Shi'a Taliban are going to rise in Basra, the British did not train Iraqi forces to stop such an uprising. This is no suprise to me, and to be honest, it will not be a suprise to me if after the US leaves, that there will be another dictator that will come to power. It will take more than 5,10 years for democracy to stabilize Iraq, it is a concept that is so foreign to Iraqi's.
