  • If people are depending on democrats to get us out of Irak then im afraid well be there for awhile. The only way to get out is for massive protest. and i mean MASSIVE. if the people dont stand up these pricks will just keep doing what they have always done. i think people are just so disconnected from this war that they seem to take it for grated and really dont care. which is amazing considering the amount of information that is available in todays world.

I agree with you. The reason why so mant people are disconnected is because it doesn't affect them. During WW II everyone had to chip in. In Vietnam there was the looming threat of the draft.

yeah there are no real sacrifices. And since they can get private armys like Blackwater who the hell needs a draft. I believe the US goverment as whole was bought out a long time ago. It no longer is by the people and for the people. Its the Great Corporation.

the democrats should have made it far clearer that it was Bush who turned down the funding of our troops. they should simply leave this bill open and let the public know the money is there whenever bush wants to give it to them. if the troops go without it should be publicly stated on a daily basis that it is bush who is refusing to fund the troops. the only other solution is to put a lean on EVERYONES checks. just deduct 20 percent of everyones paycheck every month like they do with child support. now THAT would end this war QUICKLY. fact is, even if the democrats cut all funding to the war, that would not mean bush would bring them home. he would rather our troops starve a nd fight with rocks they find on the ground than end halliburtons war.

What did you expect? Intestinal fortitude from people whose livelyhood relies solely on popularity contests?

    Pass time table bill.
    Veto.

    Pass time table bill.
    Veto.
    Pass time table bill.
    Veto.

And on and on for the next two years. None of them had the patience for it.

    I agree

until a war is fought on OUR soil, outrage will be among the minority. People get in their cars, go to work, watch the evening news, all without fear of walking outside and being blown up. There will likely come a time when that is not the case, but for now that how it is. We are disconnected.

I believe people are disconnected because the media is hiding much of the truth in Iraq. It's easy to turn a blind eye when you're being conned into thinking that it's no big deal. And that's pretty much the way the media's handling it.

this country allowed this administration to lie to take the country into war ... that enough should be enough to have everyone involved put in prison for life so ... really at this stage - i'd say the people are completely clueless ...
