First of all I'm all for native American tribes getting back the land that was taken from them, but do we really need more casinos. It seems that in the last decade gambling has taken off. Every where I look there is some sort of gambling activity underway. I'm not just talking about the lottery or bingo halls, but casinos, poker parlors, etc. Now in Yonkers, NY they are even going to put slot machines in Yonkers Raceway Park. In between horse races you can play the slots. In NJ the Meadowlands wants to add slot machines to the horse track there. As many of you know I'm a recovering compulsive gambler. I've been clean, or abstinate, from gambling for close to 5 months now. In the short time that I have been a memeber of Gamblers Anonymous I have seen my group, the regular meeting I attend every week, grow from 10 members to 25 in 3 months. Maybe I'm wrong but I can't help but think that the glorification of gambling is adding to the increase of compulsive gamblers out there. You can pick any night of the week and flip through the channels, if you have cable, and I'm sure you will see at least 3-5 different poker related shows. From celebrity poker to the World Series of Poker. I used to meet my friends sometimes, about twice a month, at a bar/lounge, here in New Jersey for dinner and some drinks on Friday nights. The place had great food but we changed the location because Friday nights they have Texas Hold'em Poker tournaments. Don't get me wrong an addict is responsible for his/her actions and I'm in no way blaming casinos, horse racing, etc for my addiction. I'm a compulsive gambler because of my own actions, but in my short time of abstinence, I can't help but noticed the increase in membership in GA, not only my own group, and the growth in appeal of gambling.

They didn't loose it. The land was sold in 1801 without Congressional apporval which was necessary under the law at the time. By law that land is theirs.
Dont throw facts at the Miller boy, you will confuse him.
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength
It just seems like an easy way for states to generate revenue. But at whose expense?
Thats over 200 years ago...its time to suck it up and move on
Tell me if you found out today that your ancestors 200 years ago owned land that was illegally sold to someone else and that land is worth a fortune now wouldn't you fight tooth and nail to get that land back. Hell I know I would.
No its lost
No lost is what happens when you put the dead on your land up in a game of poker. Stolen is what happened to these people and they have every right to try to reclaim it.
