    Exactly. Many of us knew that this was their intention from day one. Iraqi sovernty my ass. This administration wanted to keep a heavy US military presence there in order to make sure that the Iraqi government did things our way.

    After all this bloodshed and as a taxpaying American citizen by god I fucking expect gas prices to go down.

    I can get behind all this killing of muslim children if I can fill'er up for the weekend and go cruising with the top down, wavin' to the girls and feelin' outta sight...

    Controlling Iraqi oil is not about lowering the price for us but about making sure that the US dollar remains the preferred currency for petro exchanges. Iraq is considered to have the largest untapped fields in the world. With US control over Iraq the dollar will continue to be used as the petro currency and the US can continue it's economic hegemony.

    It will also help cut out those pesky Saudies and serve as a perfect military jump off point for any future military action against Iran.
