The bright side of this election: It could have been worse!

What if it were Rudy vs. Hillary right now?

Tell me that would be better than our poor choices right now...

Even the 2004 election had worse candidates up for election than these 2 clowns-- I'd take McCain or Obama over Kerry or Bush, myself.

Thoughts?

It could have been better if it was Obama v. Romney...assuming that Rmney stopped trying to pander to the religious right of course.

This is true. I personally feel that Obama is the strongest Democratic candidate since Clinton, and McCain is the strongest Republican candidate since Reagan (despite my problems with Reagan's policies, I acknowledge that he galvanized many people in this nation). I think the choices this year are a crapload better than the ones we've had in the past few elections.

When you think of all the characters running this year, there were some really awful ones in there. I still can't see what anyone could see in Hillary... Is she not the most unbelievably fake person on this planet?

Question, if Rudy was running for President would he have to step down as the Mayor of 9/11?

Sarah Palin is a VP candidate, and what you say is "it could have been worse"?

You know I never had anything against any candidate from either party that ran for president. I may have disagreed with their policies but I can't say that I disliked or hated them, except for Rudy. I can't stand the man. Just the sight of him makes my skin crawl. I was on cloud nine the day he dropped out of the race. I can actually say that I loath that man.

Do you think Romney would have campaigned under the platform of legalizing poligamy? Or changing textbooks to include a history of Jesus' time in America hating on dark skinned people?

Believe it or not, yes. Having McCain / Palin vs. Hillary and my cousin Jerry would have been worse (and I like my cousin).

Any Democrat vs. Rudy would have been worse.

I think I actually like McCain a light-years-away-distant 2nd to Ron Paul as my pick for the Republican nominee.

On the Democrat side, Kucinich would have easily been my number 1.

That being said, I'm voting Baldwin.

The only way these two candidates could have been better was if it was Obama v's Congressman McCain and not Obama v's Candidate McCain.

His move to the right hurt him in my eyes and in the end might be the reason he doesn't win. Palin for example was chosen because she panders to the right.

    Spot on.

Well, there's a stupid way of looking at it.

    Why?

I'm just saying Hillary vs. Any Repub, Rudy vs. any Democrat would be far worse. Hillary vs. Rudy would be the absolute worst election we could have, given this year's presidential candidates.
  • The only way these candidates could have been better is the weren't both warmongers, anti-gay, desperately in need of better economic policies, clueless on how to create meaningful health care reform, hitched to running mates that embarrass themselves every time they speak, woefully mired in a series of spineless attack ads (particularly mccain), and firmly pockets of special interest groups...

Oh well, neither of them are named Bush, right?
