i liked this guy during the debates in Manchester, NH yesterday....if you watched you heard what he had to say so i wont list all the things i like if you want to take a look you can go to

http://www.tommy2008.com/Home.aspx

also there was another thread stating the lack of time some other candidates didnt get and i agree they pretty much let Romney (who came of better than usual), Guiliani (who i dont like for some reason), and McCain (who stood strong as usual) do all the talking, but when Thompson got the chance he ran with it i thought

just want to get some insight to others thoughts pro or con...maybe i can learn more about him that i dont already know from others

I wasn't all that impressed with Tommy actually. Nothing terrible, nothing terrific. Kinda same impression I got from Bill Richardson during the Dem debate. I expectd more and left feeling blah about them both.

I thought McCain seemed like Joe Biden, blaming gov't procedure for poor legislation. Didn't like it.

Mitt and Rudy looked the best in my opinion with some interjection from Ron Paul.

he's not the "Law & Order" Thompson. He's not the "actor guy".

Could it be that the man has only one thing going for him and that is that he was the mayor of NYC on 9/11. His whole presidential campaign revolves around that.

America's history. Rudy's entire campaign is based upon his cry that "The Terrorists Are Coming!! The Terrorists Are Coming!!" and he's the only contender out there who can keep us safe.

Rudy won't talk about how he kept crime down in NYC by letting the cops treat certain of its citizens like Gitmo detainees, and he won't talk about his family and he won't talk about his law firms and their conflicts of interest.....he won't talk about anything but 9/11.

And that's what's going to squash him in the polls this year. That, and Fred Thompson.

Not that Fred's all that great either.

I really wasn't crazy about Tommy, I just don't think when push comes to shove he isn't gonna be what this country really needs from it's President. Mitt is coming off more and more like a real presidentcial candidate. Rudy has his own issues, and John could have won in 2000 but now I just think his "Blue Comet" left the station. As for the otherside of aisle Edwards is at 8% approval and is just gonna get worse now with support from Danny (I can't get a cab in NYC) Glover, and his new found support for Hugo. And of course Hillary, who is really gonna vote for this woman, honestly what has she dribbled out of her mouth that you just go yes she is gonna be my vote for president. Let's just face facts Obama isn't getting the nod either, so much like the budget they have no stances they will go to war for, just as history has shown they will back down; boy I hope a Dem gets the nod, actually I don't!

Go Law and Order : Fred Thompson!

Tommy Thompson doesn't do much for me either... Cincy's Bill Richardson's comparison was good. While I don't agree with Thompson on a lot of stuff, I kind of expected him as a governor to come off better.

Mitt is the same as Hilary in my opinion - nothing comes out of their mouth that didn't come from a focus group. They might as well be robots, they both will say and do anything to get elected. If Romney wins the republican nomination, I can't wait to see how far he drifts back to the left for the general election (same with Hilary).

I think McCain has lost anything that he has ever had going for him politically - he went from being the straight talking maverick, to trying to be whatever everyone wants him to be... he's just not believable anymore.

Honestly the republicans are in trouble this time around I think... Rudy has too many issues, Fred Thompson is the second coming, but he doesn't even act like he wants to be president and his lobbyist background could come back and hurt him when he gets put under the microscope. Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee might be the only two "believable" and qualified candidates right now.

I think this sia good summary of the Rep candidates. Unfotunetlt the two candidates who seem to be the best qualified, Paul and Huckabee, have no shot at winning the candidacy. I have a bad feeling we will be seeing a presidential race between Mitt Romney, aka Bruce Campbell, and Hillary Clinton. That just making me want to throw up.

If it's between those two, I might actually move to Canada :) ...

If it is between those two then I really think it's high time for a revolution.
