“As for that V.P. talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the V.P. does every day?"

I hope someone has explained all of this to her.

I drive by the current VP's house the Naval Observatory everyday to and from work and ALL this one does is tie up traffic with his 21 vehicle motorcade in DC. Wher he's coming from nobody knows.

It is a valid question, and the answer is situational. You get a mouthbreather like Lil' Bush paired with a power broker like Cheney, and you have a very active and powerful VP. You get a dolt like Quayle or Gore paired with someone like Bush Sr, or Clinton and you get a VP whose job it is to host state dinners and stay out of trouble.

Well put and the same would be with Palin.

I'm sorry you can not like the man but Al Gore is no Dolt. If anything he is to smart for his own good.

I don't know anyone who likes or dislikes the man who would argue his intelligence except for you of course. But technically I only know you on this board. :)

Agreed. He is smart...to a fault. Some people don't like it.

Nah, he was a dispassionate dolt as a VP. Clinton was far brighter, had much more charisma, and a lot more street smarts. It was clear which one was meant to be in charge of hosting state dinners.

He has found his passion and has recreated himself, and that's great. More power to him. But he was in way over his head as an executive of the country.

actually i suggest you go back and see how gore handled himself on nafta back in the 90s...gore didn't get the chance to shine often under the clinton administration but when he did he nailed it!

I'd show her where the VP's house is, I have to drive past it everyday on my way to work.

Yeah, the guy has a degree from Harvard, he volunteered for enlistment in the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War, attended law school at Vanderbilt, served in Congress and was VP for 8 years. He is the co-founder and chairman of a firm dedicated to sustainable investing, co-founder and chairman of a cable network, sits on the board at Apple Computers and is a senior advisor to Google, Inc. In his spare time he is also a visiting professor at Middle Tennessee University. He has written best selling books and his documentary movie won 2 Academy Awards. Yeah, what a dope.

Sometimes it blows my mind how people can kid themselves out of self-interest. I can respect ideological disagreements, but anyone who can question this man's intelligence or commitment to this country and planet is f*cking delusional.

Lil' Bush could put together a pretty sweet resume as well. Guess what? He's a dolt too.

I'm happy you like the guy. He probably is, too. I think he's reinvented himself. But he was a complete failure as a leader of the country.
