I know that polls and projections are useless right now ...

  • In the span of two sentences, you're making two different arguments.

    1) I'm completely making up the fact Obama says "uh" and "um" a lot.

and 2) Obama does indeed say "um" and "uh" a lot, but at least he's not Palin.

    Which is it?

I said I have heard him say it "every so often" because he is interviewed all the time and has to think quickly on his feet. I did not say that he said it a lot. Again, if you watched the O'Reilly interview, he was speaking without notes the entire time and hardly uttered an um or uh.

You have yet to show any examples. I haven't seen what you're talking about in excess, AT ALL. Maybe watching all of the democratic debates and seeing him constantly on the news isn't enough to tell.
No longer overwhelmed it seems so simple now.

He was pretty good on the O'Reilly interview. I enjoyed that segment immensely, even if I didn't agree with much of what he had to say.

At the Saddleback forum and again last night on the 9.11 forum, Obama was in full "um" and "uh" mode. It's not just that he says "uh" a lot though ... we all do that, when we are gathering our thoughts. It's that he has away, like John Kerry before him, of giving two minute answers at the end of which nobody knows really what he's talking about.

He's very good at speech-making on the teleprompter.

As I mentioned earlier, Obama will do fine at the debates. I'd be surprised if he doesn't "win" all three, whatever that means.

I just think the people who think Obama is going to so completely outclass McCain in these debates that it will seal him the election are nuts.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

for the least they could possibly do

    Humility....awesome.

Obviously you won't change your mind or show any valid examples, so we'll just agree to disagree.

I've offered some examples ... you just (apparently) don't find them valid.

Agreeing to disagree seems to be the word.

    This was pretty funny.

  • Thanks for the link. There are some others there as well:

    "Obama stumbles through debate:" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5QxTxUbUoc&feature=related

So, I'm not the only one who thinks Obama isn't *that* great when separated from his teleprompter.

  • The stuttering montage from the speech in the Sudan is obviously looped.

The one on the debate he fumbled a few times but I wouldn't say it was over abundant. I think it's funny you provided a link from a Hillary Clinton backer. :)

Who knows how long the segment was that Dave took that from. You could do something similar for McSame.

Anyway, what do you think about Obama's tax plan that calls for tax cuts for 95% of Americans?

Hey now, then we'd be talking about issues, and that's just uncalled for.
