No your not missing anything but I still fail to see the problem. So the man fessed up for something that he didn't write, but was in his newsletter because his aids said that it would be the easiest thing to do. Years later when asked about this he explains the situation, but still states that he is morally responsible for what was written because it was in his newsletter.
The problem for me is the part where he pretended (lied) that he wrote those comments because he was told to by his aids. If that's not a little alarming a trait in a future President, I'm not sure what is.

No it's not. Most politicians run away back peddle and spin like a top when they insert their foot in their mouth instead of just fessing up. Paul and his aids decided it was best to just take the heat, even though he didn't write it it was still in his newsletter.

Okay, I'll admit I'm being petty and argumentative. My sense of him is basically what you are saying, and that this did happen based on his integrity.

And while I'm at it, I want to tell you, mammasan, that I've always admired the fact that you are a very reasonable poster. It's awesome to be able to oppose someone who is very fair and completely above board. :)

You give me too much credit, but thank you and the feeling is mutual.

Although very small compared to other candidate's actions...it was dishonest. If he felt he should have set everyone straight from the beginning, he should have shown true leadership skills and done so.
If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

Nobody is perfect. Compared to the flaws and wrongs of other candidates this is pretty insignificant. There will never be the perfect candidate.

Oh I'm sure there are some skeletons in that closet, but you are probably as close to perfect as any of us will ever be.

Pffft! A typical example of the short attention span of the American electorate! Have you already forgotten that she lives with that racist Kabong?!

And didn't she once so heinously "remove" draft signs or something....and hide them under her bed?? But then again, that could be tied into the known misogyny of Kabong, though....

Don't foget that whole fiasco where she, or was it Kabong, threatened a minor with bodily harm, Gutyoulikeafish.

I'm hoping, by the time I run, the people will love that. It will be the new 'Yes, I've smoked pot before'. :D

Easy enough to explain that one: He's a Pat Buchanan supporter! :p

Back to Ron Paul and the other Republicans' stance on gay soliders...

I think Jon Stewart said it best:

"Apparently the only thing worse for these candidates than another terrorist attack would be a gay hero stopping it"

Well in Ron's case that is incorrect because he has nothing against gays serving in the millitary.
