I rather like their approach.
What are some of your favorite charities?

My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

I got signed up by a charity mugger a few years ago so have been giving £3 a month to centrepoint (homeless charity) which isn;t much really but at least it means that when I'm really skint and considering cancelling some outgoings I'm unlikely to cancel something that is only £3 a month! http://www.centrepoint.org.uk
We do payroll giving now at work so I chose medicines sans frontiers to donate to as well. http://www.msf.org

Yeah, even my charitable giving is selfish.
That's good to know. I have a friend that works for food for the hungry I have donated too, this just seemed like a great idea, I'm glad to know that they are highly rated.
thank you!

they give shelter to refugees, help them deal with red tape, teach them how things work around here, provide therapists and operate a kindergarten whose pupils consist half of the kids living in the integrationshaus, half of local kids.

they build villages where orphaned, abandoned and neglected children live in their own house with a mother and siblings (up to seven kids per mother/house). there are 1.799 facilities in 132 countries and territories. we visited one close to vienna with school once, it was impressive.

i'll be calculating my carbon emissions for the year and making a donation in the next couple of weeks ... can't say that i have a favourite charity tho ...
those aren't charities. they are political action groups. the nra is not giving guns to the poor unfortunate people who can't afford them.
i dont have any money to donate. im currently benefitting from federal perkins and stafford loans though. after that, i will donate to the "pay off my loans" fund. then i might be able to do something good for the world.
Jesus, even you turned a nice positive thread into a political issue...
As for me, I don't have money to donate, but we help out putting on shows for various things, etc...

He's right, the NRA doesn't give guns to poor people.
But that doesn't mean that you can't.
