Genarlow Wilson to be Released.

He's the reason Georgia changed it's laws relating to young people so close to each other in age.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

that is good news. I think I heard about this on an HBO special and the fact it took this long is horrendous. But I'm glad it was addressed

Busted for an blow job and his lawyer's name is B.J. Bernstein. Classic!

Rule number one kiddies. Don't and I repeat don't go and video what you know is going to get you busted. Fools!

Glad the kid is getting out.

I think I saw this on ESPN, because he was a high school basketball star. It seems that he was accused of also raping (i.e. non-consensually) another girl that was his age. Therefore, the will to try to release him was not very strong with people saying, after the law change, "yeah, well I think he raped that girl anyway." Sorry, but that's not the way it works.

The punishment and the identification of "child molestation" is almost funny. A 17 year old that has sex with a 15 year old, even if it is statutory rape, is not a pedaphile.
I cannot come up with a new sig till I get this egg off my face.
  • And isn't it a bit ridiculous in the first place, though...in high school I never dated guys that weren't at least two years older than me.

my ex was a year younger then me (at the time i was 17 she was 16) this was about the time that I first heard the story. I just remember feeling really sorry for the kid. Also I remember being a little worried as well because I was his age and my girl was younger.

right, i have almost always dated girls a few years older than myself. probably because i have always been taller than most so i passed for an older age.

but i think this was a tad diffferent to the supporters of the penalty because of the fact that other kids video taped it and such, and other possible factors that i dont know about. but it was consensual.

is it really good news?? ... it's so sad and pathetic ... this article doesn't make me rejoice - it pisses me off that there are people like baker around and that this kid won't get those 2 years back ...

i know at least he's apparently gonna be set free - but he should never have been put there to begin with ...

given the reality of the situation it's great news. I just hope the states appeals process speeds up.

nevermind, apparently the County filed an appeal and he will stay in prison for the time being.

This is crap. They are sticking it too this kid because the younger 15 year old kids plead out.

It's absolute bullshit this kid is in prison for a BJ.

how many white kids in Georgia were charged with the same crime?

    my guess is zero.

the fact that he is a "promising athlete" is probably the only reason he's out of jail.

well, in a few more years this same kid could very well get thrown in jail for another non-crime... smoking pot. that is, if his athletic career doesn't work out, then he's fine.

Due to the fact that teenage girls mature faster than teenage boys, perhaps she is the one that should go to prison for performing sex acts on a minor.

He was also an honor student Kenny.

The jury Acquitted him of rape, and they had to convict him of the lesser charge of which by law he was guilty.

The DA used this kid as an example because he couldn't do anything to the other 3.

At 15, girls know what they fuck they are doing, if they want to be slutty, they can be slutty. Unfortunately the GA legislature figures 17 year old boys are evil child molesters should they actually have consensual sex. why don't we put little sluts in prison?

The DA used this kid as an example because he couldn't do anything to the other 3.

or maybe instead of calling the sexually active girls slutty, while at the same time exonerating the sexually active boy, we could focus on how lame these laws are and do something about that.
