I've been a fan of his for a few years now, I really don't think that there is a more qualified person out there to become president then Richardson.
He has tremendous foreign policy experience and success as a US ambassador to the UN, working in the state department, and his assignments where he has gone to release hostages in North Korea, Iraq & Cuba, and his recent ceasefire work in Darfur.
He has the executive experience as a Governor, and has solid plans on Iraq and illegal immigration.
Ideally I would like to see a Obama/Richardson ticket, but unfortunately I can't imagine that this country would elect a black guy and a hispanic on the same ticket.

Yes.
"Gov" is the key word due to the fact that nominating a Senator for president is stupid. Nonimate a Governor.
Actually, "New Mexico" is key too, since it is a big western state and not part of the "elitist" northeast.
Of course, while "Bill Richardson" is a good name, he is of some hispanic heritage and that would hurt his chances.
Hey now, easy with the name calling!!!
We have so many 'elitist' politicians up here in the northeast that the good ones seemingly get thrown in with the bad ones...it's all a bunch of name-calling bullshit. liberals, convervatives, whatever. Truth be known (IMHO of course), Bill Richardson is a democratic name up here who obviously has a great deal of experience and has been successful in politics. People just don't know much about him up here other than the fact that he is the Gov of New Mexico and has been a powerful voice in politics...and still is. Unfortunately, the media has all but made the Dems race a 3 way, and anyone else is just an outsider. I agree with John Kerry not running, and thank God for that, but people like Chris Dodd have a lot to offer (I'm not on his bandwagon, I'm just using him as an example). I'm sure within the next few months we'll learn more about Richardson and the rest of the candidates, and may the best person win (and not invent another war so their friends and conglomerates can benefit and screw the country all while cloaking themselves in a blood covered American flag!).
