Well, it could start with its foreign policy. A Bush staffer said: "We're an empire now, we make our own reality." UGH.

i am hearing that minimum wage increase, tax reform, universal health care, and uniting the country are the first things on the agenda. after that subpeona powers may be invoked to investigate the pre war intelligence and those responsible for the war drum beating. according to murtha and pelosi people are going to be held accountable for the situation in iraq. this should be interesting.

Can I interpret that for ya? K, thanks.

I am hearing that businesses will be cutting jobs, raising our taxes, longer waits at the ER along with doctors turning away patients, and generally alienating the public. We will stonewall the congress into a state of inoperation through investigations and impeachment proceedings. Did I really make the right choices?

What should be on the agenda is immigration, some serious tax reform, and reducing wastefull spending.

I strongly agree with 2 of your 3 points.

Do you often quote yourself, or are ya just bored silly ? And as for explicit ideas, the Bush administration had explicit information and pissed on it. In the case of Iraq per se, a State Dept report outlined exactly what the U.S. should do - but it was dismissed out of hand. Of course the State dept doesn't mean shit in this administration, so whaddya expect ? Too bad, b/c the multi-volume report was incredibly accurate in terms of what to expect there.

But, you know, criticise me b/c i disagree with statements from a neo-con hack or another right-wing Yankee asshole that the U.S. "should mow the whole place down". Dude, save your snide dumbass comments for the likes of Trent Lott. Its people like him that got the U.S. into the shithole that its in right now. Coming here after the fact, and expecting Democrats to instantly clean up the cesspool left by those filthy republican bastards, is laughable and unconscionable.

So you think the tax breaks that were given to the richest 1% of the country shouldn't be repealed even though we are n debt beyond our wildest dreams and you also think there should be no investigation into the pre war intelligence and those responsible for the war because that could really bring to light some awful truths. But I bet you supported the waste of time that was the Clinton impeachment.....that he by the way won.

Umm.... Shhhhhh! Clinton was impeached. Being impeached at the conclusion of impeachment proceeding doesn't make you a winner.

Why would you assume that I disagree with tax reform? That's not very liberal of you. You're a party of ideas, acceptance. Come on...

And there was nothing in that post about pre-war intelligence. But if you must know, all the major intelligence agencies worldwide which agreed in whole in reguards with Saddam Hussien having WMDs, still stand by that assessment. That information was not fabricated by Bush or his administration. The intelligence community may have let this administration down, in a variety of ways, but no one lied to you.

Plus, to even propose this question to poster on a message board as though we were all just elected as Senators and Representatives.

The need to define what we all agree is victory in Iraq.....in other words reel the President back in a little and lets finally map out a victory and exit strategy from Iraq. Also I would love to see the 9/11 commission reccomendations enacted.

But yeah, unlike the waste of time the Clinton impeachment was, I do think an investigation about how we got into this mess called the Iraq war IS necessary which is a million times more important than Bubba lying about getting a hummer.

As much as I would love to see Bush squirm under oath before Congress, I don't think it would be would be the best idea for the Dems to go at him right now. First they need to focus on some issues closer to home that they can get approved, Immigration would be a good one since the Dems and the White House have a similiar resolution to the problem. Taxreformto meis a huge one, but I'm not talking about repealing some taxcuts. I'm talking about taking the entire tax code as it is and chucking that shit out the window. Weneed to completely revamp taxes in this country. This one may be a bit harder to get through but I believe they need to agressively push it. If the Dems want to go after Bush they should do it after the have a couple of successes under their belts and have earned the countries confidence.

Clinton won his impeachment. He was found Not Guilty and acquitted on all charges brought against him in the Impeachment Trial. Get it, it's a trial, not a verdict. The only thing that came of that was a HUGE waste of government time and dollars.

I think we'll let our elected officials make that call....not you or me who only know what you think you know.

It's all about truth finding, my friend.

I knew there was a good reason for raising my taxes.

No, that will be to pay off the outrageous spending that has happened over the last 6 years. Have you seen how much our deficit has increased in recent years? You should check it out. Our country is in debt beyond our wildest dreams. How did you propose we pay it off if not by taxes?
