What would all the religions in the world do..

If tomorrow, E.T landed and let us know we are not alone..

How would they explain it?

For once would people stop killing in the name of their beliefs and just be mistified by the unknown and learn from it???

God, I hope we're not alone. There's and easing feeling to think we aren't the top of the line. I can't help but think there's a higher level of intelligence than us. If we are "it", I am gonna be really disappointed.

You know, humans only use 1/8 of their brain.. some more or less than others, but imagine if we all could unlock and use all of it...

aliens? You mean extraterrestrial heathens? If they did show up, it would only mean that god showed them the way to discovering jesus. In fact, aliens were probably around during the time of jesus, so they would already have been converted. That's probably why there's so much peace and harmony on alien planets.

I had a conversation about this with a co-worker one day. We concluded that if god really does exist, then he would've sent an alien version of jesus to every inhabited planet to spread his word. No one said that jesus was his ONLY son.

As for how I feel about aliens in general, I don't think they're all that great of a thing to have around. It seems they have a habit of kidnapping us and sticking objects into our bodily crevices. Not cool. I'm sure a few of them have infiltrated our leadership ranks and are poised to squeeze down at a moment's notice. Of course, that still doesn't explain what they're waiting for.

I really don't know what they're waiting for. Maybe we're like a science experiment to them. Maybe they're waiting to see how far we'll get on our own. Maybe they're a highly logical race of beings who are utterly fascinated by mankind's sense of artistic endeavor and expressive creativity. Maybe they're Jammers.

they wouldn't. most people are too hard-lined and closed-minded that even if ET did land and even if he proclaimed to leave a message from 'god,' it wouldn't matter. people's minds don't change in 10 minutes. it takes hundreds and hundreds of years. sad to say , but so true.

Is it me, or does have E.T. have the coolest job ever? He goes to other planets to examine plants, he's an interstellar botanist.

There is a higher level of intelligence....it's God.

You last statement confuses me as well. I guess you're saying that religious people are stupid.

Well if someone doesn't believe in God, it's their opinion and not fact, so I don't see the point here.

But you are STILL stating opinion.

I'm not a relgious guy, at all. I hate it when people track me down and such and such. But seriously, take a step back, threads like this are the exact same thing to religious people. I don't even know where this is going. You don't believe in some higher being, other people do. Do you automattically believe that ANYONE who believes in something bigger wants to shove their agenda down your throat? Do you think it may be offesnive to people who do believe in something that others constantly shove their opinions down their throats? It's ironic how some people hate being preached to, but then the preach to everyone else.

  • I don't think that any religion would have to answer to such a thing. None of the major world religions clearly state that there is no possibility of alien life.

werd. it's like the sally strothers episode of southpark when the 700 club tries to spread christianity to an alien planet.

That's a pretty big detail to leave out though.

Oh, and by the way...you know when we all thought god was resting on the seventh day...wwwwweeeeeellllllllllllllll.....he was actually making aliens.

I have no idea what all religions think god did and am not going to look it up. Just gonna go with what I know.

hmm..so I guess as far as christianity is concerned, there should be no aliens unless, like you said, god created them after taking a breather.
