The President was comparing Iraq to the Tet offensive during the Vietnam war.

Has anyone seen the sniper videos?

Insurgents are sniping out US troops. They turned a video in and CNN is showing it.

sniper schmiper......that is just the local tradition for greeting liberators.
  • now that's funny....well, not the content, but posting a link to cnn's homepage. The video coverage I saw was terribly sad and makes me pretty fucking angry.
  • Sniper videos from Iraq have been on the web for atleast a year now. I guess the media is just finding out about these.
  • In order to add a little intelligence to the topic of this thread the President was comparing Iraq to the Tet offensive during the Vietnam war. An attempt in large part to sway public opinion. Just read a little bit about the Tet offensive I'm not up to writing a 20 page summary.

In short, we defeated the Vietcong during the Tet offensive.

Yeah, I got that part of the story after the headline I read. I'm easily brainwashed by the media. :o
  • Iraq has nothing to do with Vietnam. Iraq and Vietnam are totally different situations in different periods of history.

George Bush is a man of integrity and a great president.

    Professional historians do not agree:

Now you know how I feel reading the opinions of the people here.
And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days

Well duh! Not saying they're the same or related conflicts. "Comparison" means comparing two DIFFERENT things to one another.. When interviewed he didn't deny the fact that it was like a conflict in vietnam. George Bush is a tool. It's a shame he's the best republicans can put out.

your webpage was one of the most redneck versions of amertican presidents and their "accomplishments" that i have ever read.

all the first american presidents were mass murderers and cheats. the people at the receiving end of this treatment were of course the amerindians.

Read "The great Sioux Nation - sitting in judgement on america" by Roxanne Dunbar Ortiz.
