he's an opportunist. Mostly a joke.

The only reason he's running is to get back into power, he has no conviction, he's basically a career politician with sketchy morals (and I'm not talking about BS political tailgate religion like slapping a fish on your car) I'm talking about spending campaign money sent in by little old ladies he's convinced into sending him thier money to pay for his lifestyle.... (I mean promote morality I'm sorry)

He's just largely a smarmy unlikeable unbelievable individual.... in other words. Opportunist. I'm always wary of people that lust after political office like that.

    you are wrong

i guess you are happy with the two party joke system we have going on and the two clowns we have as best of the worst choices

Barr should be looked into and be taken more seriously, as well as third party candidates, as long as it isnt Ralph Nader, who fits more into what you were talking about above

Obviously you don't read Paco's posts...

And what do you mean 'as long as it's not Ralph Nader' ? So support any 3rd party candidate as long as you approve of them. That's cute.

Do I know you but not know that I know you by any chance?

    Nevermind, don't answer that. :)

Oh I'd love to have a viable 3rd party canidate. I'm probably closest to the Libertarian Party, but I have first hand knowledge of Bobb Barr. I generally vote libertarian in most of my local elections, but there's no chance in hell I'm casting a vote for Bob Barr he's as full of shit as anyone else. He's a libertarian as much as Cynthia Mckinney is Green Party.

The Libertarian Party never should have let this guy be thier canidate. He's not an idealist, he's just trying to get votes/money/power.

I wish I could fully support the guy myself... but just read through this and tell me what you think. This is just a wiki entry, just basically some information about his career and what he's done. I just don't really see what has led him to suddenly decide he wants to be libertarian.

He's certainly saying some nice stuff now but I just don't trust him or believe him. just my take. I just find him disengenuous or the standard politician. I think he sticks his finger in the air tests the political winds and just goes with the flow.

  • I don't see how the Libertarian Party picked a guy who voted for the Patriot act, WROTE the Defense of Marriage act and was a staunch drug warrior. Now, he "regrets" all of those positions. I'm embarrassed that I ever called myself a Libertarian. I'm now glad that my last car that had a "Enough is Enough - Vote Libertarian!" bumper sticker got totaled.

Guess I won't be voting in the presidential race this year.

Exactly how I feel. I'm either going to write in myself or Ron Paul I guess.

Bummer that I won't be voting Libertarian for president this time.
