No not necessarily. You can have a SSN# and still not be a contributor to our economy. My children have SSN#s and they contribute nothing to the economy.

In the sense that the money that isn't taken from you because of their dependency, they do.

    You are correct.

    If you consider knowledge fear...

knowledge without perspective is a dangerous thing.

No. the U.S. economy is not about to collapse...nor will it anytime soon.
there is soo much foreign investment in the U.S. it really couldn't. w/ multi-national corporations...and all the Friedman talk about how this cross-pollonization of economy's due to international/multinational corporations takes place...i just don't see it happening...
    (i didn't read the thread...just answered the posters question)....sorry...

It is, but in this case that means nothing in the big picture. It's all hypothetical opinion. If you think it does apply, than maybe start up a conspiracy to deny the great depression.... (you know what I mean)

The US dollar is backed (at the moment) by military might and perceived popularity. It can be called in at any time, or lose popularity, and for whatever reason. America as a country has already lost a lot of popularity around the world.

You're absolutely free to say that, but you don't have a crystal ball, and some troubling circumstances do remain in America's financial matters.

The US is spending money it does not have. I sure to hell hope China doesn't get fed up at any point or have a falling out.

Which, I believe, backs up my NAU findings.
