Once again, the time has come!
There are few things in life I anticipate more than an east coast pj tour. That is either a testament to the love I have for this band or just really accentuates how pitiful my life is...either way, my spirits are now lifted. I regret they aren't touring behind the strength of a new album, which happens to be one of the few things I anticipate more than a PJ tour, a new PJ album, that is. I have my fingers crossed that they dust off some more rarely played tunes for this set ala Rats and Garden. All Those Yesterdays and Light Years come to mind first. The Into The Wild soundtrack is also a pool of wonderful songs they can now pull from, which I hope are included in the main set and not just performed via the pre-set solely by Eddie. I was unable to attain MSG tickets through the Ten Club but have secured a pair for each Camden show, which will bring my total PJ shows attended to an even 20 when all is said and done (thats if I don't cave and scramble to obtain tickets for DC and the Garden). 18 amazing evenings which have contributed to fueling my love affair with the greatest American rock and roll band of all time. Also, for those of you who havn't explored the wonderful rock of Kings Of Leon, this is a great oppertunity to do so. They are great, in studio and live. Unfortunately, they stop opening for PJ after the Virginia Beach show, the last show prior to Camden. I've already seen them twice though, with a third to come this summer, so I can live with that display of bad timing on behalf of whoever shcedules these things. So let us kick off this summer with a bang for once again the greatest performers of at least my time are knocking on the doors of those of us who reside on the coast of the rising sun in America! One thing does bother me however; they continue to consider Camden, NEW JERSEY as Philadelphia on most posters and t-shirts. If they want to play Philly, then play Philly...NJ usually is the butt of most jokes and rarely gets its just due for being a very under-rated place to call home (south jersey, that is...North Jersey really is a hole, sorry to the neighbors to my north). So at least give us some recognition for having a pretty cool outdoor venue, allbeit, it's just a river away from Philadelphia.
Anyway, in the past I have criticized bands that tour without the support of new songs...but this is the second time in three stops to NJ PJ has done this. They had a brief east side tour where they played the Wachovia Center, in Philly, and the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City (among other stops) just before Pearl Jam was released. As a matter of fact Gone was written in Atlantic City at that time, and that was the only song off that album (I think) that they played on that tour. My point is, PJ has to be the exception to this rule just because they have built their reputation by just flat out tearing it up live. That is what initiated and amplified my obsession with this band, and why I have been to 18 shows. I can go on and on for hours but this is too long already. If you've read this far you must either feel the same way as I do, or strongly disagree. Or really have nothing else better to do on a Friday night...I thank you regardless and thanks for letting me share. LET'S GO FLYERS!!

I agree--I'm from south jersey (living in CA now) and love going home...it really is a different ballgame than North jersey.
