Light a candle. Crank some old Nirvana (Incesticide or Bleach if you have them). Wear your oldest t-shirt, crappiest sneakers, and dust off the flannel!!!

We miss you.

p.s. I don't give a fuck if this post is on the wrong board.

I appreciate the sentiment. Light your candles and crank your tunes! Rah Rah! Celebrate the man and his craft!

But your p.s. comment is precisely why you should be elsewhere!

I considered a similar comment but decided on "no comment" because I have seen how a thread like this can become rather juvenile and I thought by entertaining it I would be encouraging it further. But I like what you have put!

    Kudos!

Don't forget Layne! He died on April 5, too. It's strange how much more famous Kurt Cobain is than Layne Staley. Alice in Chains were bigger than Nirvana at the time of Cobain's death. If the roles were reversed and Layne shot himself, it would be a lot different. I guess it really is better to burn out than fade away.

Rest In Peace both Kurt and Layne. Both had a huge impact on my life and the music I chose to listen to at that time, and what I listen to today. Don't know that my life would be the same if I hadn't heard that first lick of "Smells Like Teen Spirit". I was fortunate enough to see both of them perform.

    Again , RIP :(

I was wondering the same thing, but didn't want to get into a debate today.

Better things to do... like enjoy their music that they left us with.

thanks for that. i saw Nirvana too, including their last U.S. show, and was very blessed to have been there.

    thanks for the music Kurt.

and yes, my screen name is ironic but also a tribute, so please fuck off with your "heroin/shoot yourself" comments if you don't mind.

April 5 was my 7th birthday, so I don't really know. But, I was listening to the Ongoing History of New Music (http://www.ongoinghistory.com) and they mentioned on one show that Alice in Chains were selling on equal with Soundgarden, only edged out by Pearl Jam and that they had passed Nirvana in popularity. I think it was one of the Alice in Chains shows, if you want to listen for yourself.
