im sure that many of you have a myspace account and are aware of the bulletins that people can post. i came across this one posted by a friend i used to work with. tell me what you all would do if you saw this. if you aren't a christian, pretend you were. would it still not piss you off?
HE DIED:
He died, most of u won't post this!!! When Jesus died on the cross he was thinking of you. If your one of the 3% who will stand up for Him repost this with the title: he died

I'm failing to see the real problem with this, and I'm a Christian.
I wouldn't post this for a few reasons, not the least of which is that I wouldn't want to be associated with fucking up the spelling of "you're".
It's an annoyance.
Chain letters are freaking stupid as are the people who create them.

Wait... all I have to do in order to be 'Saved' is repost a bulletin in MySpace?
It gets easier and easier everyday.
Hail, Hail!!!
one problem i see is that it implies that if you don't repost the bulletin, you don't stand up for jesus. that is completely false. i think she was playing off of her own guilty conscience when she saw the post. it just makes me wonder how people think. maybe she didn't overanalyze it like i did. i believe Jesus Christ is my savior, but i would say this does more discredit to my faith than it does to raise her supposed 3%,...

I have more of a problem with the "if you're not a Christian, pretend you are" statement and, more importantly, the way you lump all Christians together as if everyone of us has the exact same thoughts, feelings and actions.

Maybe this will spawn a really cool discussion about da da da.....Predestination.
i didn't mean to offend anyone. i worded that poorly.

There's one that goes around about a girl who was walking home late at night and prayed for safety, and didn't get raped by this man she walked by, and when she went to the prison to ask him why he didn't jump her, he told her he saw two men walking with her.
The clincher? You're asked to repost that story with the headline "Girl brutally raped in (insert your town name)," and then there's the "lesson" about "the power of prayer."
Idiotic. Panders to emotions, and it's shameless. I'm almost embarrassed to be associated with the people who put crap like that out.
Yeah I don't care either.

Yeah, that's sick. People who post such things are NOT Christians in any meaningful sense of the word.
im a chistian and who cares what people put on my space -free speach
you go online -you read what you want
if you hate myspace then go read newyorktimes site or a dictionary thats predictable

myspace is not a free speach zone,... (speech, by the way)
but seriously, i understand what you are saying and i've passed those bulletins off before. but, i keep seeing them and they piss me off. there is no meaning to it. myspace is a platform for garbage and keeping up with old friends, not religion. if someone wanted to incorporate religion into the issue, they better do it in a meaningful way. posting those kinds of bulletins are not well thought out and mean nothing about one's reverence towards their religion.

Still a crock.
Fair enough.
