that Eddie Vedder and Howard Zinn keep warning me about?

CEO Steve Bollenbach '04 salary: $3,408,940 (Does not include about 25 mil. in stock options).

I'm not sure what the maids are making who will be cleaning Ed's room; something tells me it's considerably less.

Yeah, but at least they're unionized:

So they'll be earning a living wage, get some benefits, be protected from being fired unfairly, get a few days off, etc., etc.

And I'm sure that Eddie leaves them all very good tips!

That Eddie's a big tipper? Or that maids ought to be unionized?

hahaha. i've been seriously *waiting* to see the sellout/evil corp posts as soon as i saw the 'travel package'...glad i wasn't disappointed. :p

anyhoo, in all seriousness......WHERE in the world do you think pearl jam has been staying all these years as they travel/tour?...the motel 6....? i mean, cmon, let's be real. if one travels, and is of the caliber rock band as pearl jam...they travel in style/comfort. i think anyone who didn't know that just didn't give it a thought. i mean in milan i believe they stayed at the four seasons, and in any other city i would imagine something similar.

so then, if they are going to arrange a special package for their fans, traveling to see them, thus making a vacation of it...where should they make such arrangements for? there aren't too many local mom and pop 4-5 star hotels, and even if there were....who knows the logistics, how many guests they can accommodate, etc.

yea, yea..i *get it*..the whole pj really is money grubbing, hypocritical, etc. perhpas they may be hypocritical to a degree, but i think most of us are. i STILL think it's a-ok for pearl jam, or ANYone to point out any evils they believe/know to exist...to fight against 'the man'...etc...work towards the greater good, awareness, etc...and sure....still go and support other corporations, etc. i don't think an all or nothing approach is ever wise, healthy, or all that achievable.

what so pearl jam acknowledges that they have some fans who have grown up and want to go on vacation and get to see their favorite band? big deal. They've grown up and are 40 and I imagine a lot of their fans are too. I wish i could do the trip. It would be a great way to chill in Hawaii.
