Will Rev. Al Ever Shut Up?

This fat douche is the biggest hypocrite I've ever seen. He runs around--well, walks slowly and gasps for air--criticizing radio shows for making jokes that are ultimately harmless. Meanwhile, he makes deragatory comments about other religions and means them. Which one is worse? In his case, he is spouting hate speech while basking in the glow of TV cameras as he protests what other people say. In the case of Imus and Opie and Anthony, they were just making jokes. Humor is subjective. In the Opie and Anthony situation, you couldn't even hear what they said unless you pay for a subscription to XM. You have to go out of your way to hear that portion of their show. Fat Albert made hiscomments in public in front of news cameras and he's supposed to be a "man of God."

Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

"Hey hey hey!!!! It's FAAAAT Albert!"

    J/K

    I know who you meant.

Al serves a place on this planet, it's just that we're all still trying to figure out where that place is.

I suppose if he gave all his efforts to New Orleans these past few years, we'd know where he is.

no he didn't, that athiest guy, kutchins or whatever, made the comment that mormons, up until the 60's, didn't see blacks as equal...all sharpton did was ask romney if he was a part of the church at that time. the comment about 'ppl who really believe in god' was directed at kutchins, or whatever his name is, b/c he said athiests were behind the civil rights movement, not any church or ppl of faith.

now, that's not to say he isn't a hypocrite or anything....
    standin above the crowd
he had a voice that was strong and loud and
i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
    eager to identify with
    someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same
someone prepared to lead the way

He staged a protest at Cape Canaveral during the Apollo 11 launch in 1969.

Sharpton's been a tool longer than most of us have been alive. That's not gonna change any time soon.

Up til the mid-60's, Mormon's taught that Blacks were the descendants of Cain, the murderer of his brother Abel, and their suffering was justified as such.

i only heard about because i saw Al Sharpton talk about it on Hannity & Colmes. Sharpton said his remarks were taken out of context but didn't explain. but when Hannity asked him if he was being a hypocrite for going after Don Imus for being bigoted while he makes what he considered a bigoted remark about Mormons, Sharpton responded that it's not the same thing because Mormons are not born that way. if Sharpton is a honest Christian then he has no choice but to not consider Mormons as believers in God.

as an agnostic, but moreso as a freethinker, i don't consider it be a problem to judge a person based on his/her religion, unless that person is a child.

and, as you point out, religion is, most often, something that you are born into...but...anyway...

i agree with you on the "freethinker" comment.

I know a lot of members detest O&A. However I think this issue is bigger than Howard v. O&A. Please contact XM with your call for freedom. Here is what I sent to XM:

Eric Logan, Exec VP Programming (202)380-4365 eric.logan@xmradio.com
    Gary Parsons, Chairman, gary.parsons@xmradio.com
    Steve Cook, EVP, steve.cook@xmradio.com
    Joseph J. Euteneuer, CFO, joseph.euteneuer@xmradio.com
Chance Patterson, VP Corporate Affairs, chance.patterson@xmradio.com
    Carolyn Turner, Corporate Communications, carolyn.turner@xmradio.com
    Dan Turner, Programming dan.turner@xmradio.com

    Dear XM Radio Executives,

The reason for this short email is to communicate my support for the freedom of expression at XM Radio. The remarks aired on O&A last week were obviously crude and insensitive. However, the continued corporate buckling to special interest groups must stop.

A call must be made to the entire entertainment community to stand together & protect the freedom of speech. This means forming an alliance of artists, musicians, and actors to protect these rights. The groups and individuals responsible for the recent protests against O&A and CBS talent do not represent the masses.

This witch hunt will not stop with O&A. They will go after all XL content offered. Next they will go after music. After that they will go after the film industry and video games.

ACTIONS NEED TO BE TAKEN BY XM AND SIRIUS TO ORGANIZE THEIR TALENT TO DEFEND THEIR RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

The future of your company depends on your reaction to this criticism. If you do not communicate a strong and correct message, you are jeopardizing the content that makes your service stand apart from FREE FM.

Thank you for listening to my concerns. Please contact me if you have any questions or comments.

Wow. I am stunned. So it is okay to judge Muslims now because of their violent religion and terrorist brethren?
