i heard they were. not sure what part republicans had in that, though.
idk either, but i think it's just a wee bit too simplistic to make any correlations there without any basis. there could be, and probably IS, a plethora of reasons as to why that may or may not be. it could well be a long running arc, and woul'dve happened all on it's own, period. i'd need a lot more information bfore making any such assessment.
Actually, abortions decreased significantly during the Clinton administration (don't have the exact stat) and then went up about 14% (i think that's the number, no time to look it up right now) during the Bush administration.

oh really?
14%?
that IS significant!
i do wonder if all that abstinence education could have any correlation there.....hmmmmmm.......
well ok then.
see, while i was unsure..i did think there was an overriding decline over the long haul. and it seesm yes, there was a 20 year decline. so i would not say it in any way relates to the conservative government at all...nor would i have automatically discredited them for an increase. such stats usually take time to really prove any direct correlations.
I've come to the realization that religious conservative politicians don't really want Roe v. Wade to be overturned. Just think about it from a political prospective. Abortion is probably one of their strongest rallying cries. they can't really use small government or fiscal conservatism anymore because the past 8 years is proof that the GOP has completely abandoned those principles. Without abortion they would have a platform to differentiate them from the Democrats and liberals. Their political futures pretty much depend on Roe v. Wade.

That is a great question!
All those years of pandering to the religious right - whatever the hell that means - and there should have been some changes.
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.
