America is reaching perhaps a peak of dissatisfaction and disrespect for its leadership. We can't trust the words of the politicians or the reporters quoting them.

What effect does that have on the motivation of the people and their children?

    STOP WATCHING TELEVISION NEWS!!!!!!

    ALL OF IT.

unless its c-span where they just show footage with no stupid ''my opinion'' sections 4 minutes after you saw something yourself.

these people are trying to think for you!!!

you have to understand ..half of all that fox news, cnn... msnbc... IS MADE UP... this immigration thing... pro choice pro abortion... ITS ALL A BUNCH OF GARBAGE.

USE GOOGLE TO FIND STUFF OUT ON YOUR OWN! any search engine... any encyclopedia...a book... ANYTHING BUT TV NEWS... its for entertainment people...to sell air time for commercials.

they have to report on OBAMA AND HILLARY AND BUSH AND MCCAIN simply because thats where alot of their money is stemming from... they dont care about you or who wins elections or what is the truth..they care about the next paycheck.

matthews, olberman, limbaugh, jennings, trebek :), oreilly... the fact that they would choose a career in this stuff is proof they dont care...its completely crazy to sit in front of a camera and yell bullshit for an hour!... THINK ABOUT IT!

think..if they cared so god damned much..there would be a station... that for 24/7 showed nothing but all candidates

    1.views
    2.opinions
    3.voting record

    etc..

BUT THIS WOULD BE BORING cuz they are trying to sell entertainment to the mindless..

With all the technology there'd also be a 24 hour news station that only gave news.

Better yet, just turn off your television....period.
  • Amen to that.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

I'm not sure how this got to be about tv news. In answer to the question posted, we're seeing the effect. Low voter turnout, high levels of apathy. A large portion of the US has completely turned off their minds to politics and their role in a republic.

Which is completely disturbing considering the audience that does still vote are stereotypically against any sort of change. Turning your mind off just makes one a sheep and easy to influence by one's government. We CANNOT let this happen!! 1984 is already happening, we can't let it continue.
