Why not proud of being Republican and Conservative?

Why not call yourself that in your intro and in conversaton as you would at dinner?

Oh right the liberal media that still supported the invasion of Iraq, that still won't report accurately on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, that still feeds the same bullshit propaganda that doesn't reflect any sane person's ideology.

New's flash-American media is pure propaganda.

I understand that. But lets address this question. There are other questions for sure.

    but I asked about FOX.

Yes, the same media that has been jerking off Obama since he announced his run...Hillary never stood a chance so now once again she is going to be playing second fiddle in the Whitehouse.

Huh? what mainstream media are you watching?

Obama is freaking Elvis in the media as far as coverage goes. And before you go there, everyone has gotten their knocks and bumps. Obama is a media celebrity.

    Jerked around?

FOX caters towards Republicans big whoop..thought that was public knowledge.

And the reason I brought up the other networks because I am basically saying if you hate somthing, don't you do it too.

Its not public knowledge. I know many people that don't view them as concervative. There are many americans that don't pay too much attention to politics.. but they vote.

If it were Public Knowledge.. then why is it not in their intro - their logo - their conversation?

    Democrat - Republican

    Tomato -Tomoto

it's all the same and it's certainly not liberal.

That clarifies essentially nothing, other than implying Obama is some kind of intellectual weakling.

As far as the individuals are concerned...there really only seems to be 1 candidate that actually gives a shit, and that's Nader. And compared to Nader the media have been backing Hilary since day 1.

Al Jazzera is to the Arab World as 'FOX News' is to America.
Another common thread... neither of them are News stations... both are opinion stations.

I guess what I am basically trying to say is the medias love affair with Obama is sickening and to say they are not pulling for him is a flat out lie, but whatever..if you don't like what is on change the channel...I hate Burger King fries so I chose to goto Wendys where they have square hamburgers and awesome fries..to each there own.

Have a great night, I just may go and watch NBC to see what Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. is up to....maybe he will give another heartfelt speech

    maybe he'll get jerked around...

but I doubt it...no such thing as bad PR in politics outside of pedophilia....because you can lie your ass off. hehe

the 7 minutes they have between commercials seems to allow very little dissent.
  • MSNBC basically ignores the israel thing, but have picked up on the fact that attacking Bush and being anti-Iraq war is fantastic for ratings. Olberman is beating O'reilly now, but half his show is pretty much an attack on O'reilly, so i dont know how those ratings hold up ( since fewer people are watching O'Reilly. )

dont get me wrong. its all slanted, one sided bullshit, and they will change with the ratings, but it just reinforces my belief that "news" channels are motivated by the great american dollar, not some silly political agenda. They are just trying to create a loyal viewer base, and telling people what they want to here is great for ratings.

I had a disturbing convo w/ my pops the other night. He thinks Bill O'reilly is too liberal and thinks of fox news as being a liberal news source.

Luckily we live in a blue state :)

Generally the only news I can watch now is PBS. Mcneil/Lerher news hour and even that gets dry with the taupe sets.

I can't stand the drug commercials on the major networks and that's virtually all you get in national news. CNN and Fox are on at the gym but most of that is worthless fluff and they don't really tell you anything it's just opinion and garbage time wasting.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

AMY GOODMAN: Bill O’Reilly called you guys the craziest of the crazy last night?

JOSH SILVER: He did. Last night on Fox, Bill O’Reilly said that Dan Rather was proving his liberal colors by coming out here and being with the craziest of the crazies, when one of the guests on the show said, “Well, actually, Bill, it’s a conference about media consolidation and the internet.” And he said, “Oh, no. They’re crazy.” So it just shows that, you know, he is a mouthpiece for Rupert Murdoch. He’s a mouthpiece for the largest media corporations. And that kind of omnipotent power that these large networks have, taking control of that and taking that power back from them is what this conference is about.

AMY GOODMAN: And in terms of the corporations that are controlling a lot of—not the overall discussion, because media activists are doing a good job of inserting themselves into it, but the legislation, the writing of the legislation, how do you stop the corporations from writing the laws?

JOSH SILVER: Well, that’s what this is all about. I mean, it’s about getting the public a place at the table when those laws are being made. For the last eighty years, unfortunately, every time a major decision has been made about media in this country, it’s only been the corporations at the table. It’s only been in the last few years that the public has asserted itself at that table. And the only way we’re going to win is if we have millions of people continue to get involved, to raise their voices and to demand better media, because if we don’t, we’re going to lose, and the corporations will seize control of the internet and the future of the media for generations.

JOSH SILVER: Well, the conference is an amazing coming together of people from across the country who are really concerned about what’s happening with the media. I mean, we’ve got this problem where we see celebrity fluff, instead of hard news on the news programs on commercial media, sound bite election coverage. It’s all about the horserace analysis. There’s propaganda that we see in these pundits on the air, fake news releases posing as news, the Pentagon spending millions to get seventy-five military analysts who are getting briefed by the Pentagon that you reported on. And people have had it, and they’ve started to realize more and more that there are ways that we can actually fix the system, not just stopping media consolidation, but actually taking control of the future of the internet, which is increasingly going to be delivered through a high-speed internet connection.

A lot of people don’t realize that all of television, radio, phone service, movies are all going to be delivered by high-speed internet. So we have a moment right now in this country where the policies that are going to determine the future of virtually all media are being decided in Washington, and that’s going to be a big topic here this weekend.

An interesting look at our media and how it works and will work in our future. Take a listen here....Robert McChesney and Josh Silver of Free Press on the National Conference for Media Reform.
