republicans only care about winning elections. democrats only care about winning elections. what policies they stand for or enact are irrelevant in their minds. they just want to make sure their team wins.

Yeah. It's naïve to think that one party cares more than t'other.

You win the thread, but only because you said the inevitable before I did.

True... and if it is a fact that if you're not a Republican, then you are a Democrat - We have already lost it all.

After Barack Obama wins the 2008 election if in his first 100 days he could get everyone toegther and Ax NCLB and then the federal department of education so public school teachers can go about teaching again I'd be quite pleased.....

Gooooo Tweeners!!!! Man I'd love to elect a monitary conservative that has very liberal social values.....

Did you just call George Bush a liberal. I think that Bush falls into a completely different catagory. He is surely not a liberal and he is definetly not a conservative, nor is he a a moderate. Like soulsinging said Bush is just a dumbass and that's why most Americans don't like him. He is truely the worst president in modern times.

we don't dislike him because he liberal, we don;t like him because he's an asshole.

George W. Bush is the quintessential Neo-Conservative in his beliefs that America needs to convert other nations to align with our own by spreading 'Democracy' (as defined by consumerism) and rebuilding our Military/Industrial Complex to Reagan-esque stature.
Bush is also part of the 'Moral Majority' that believes that religion (his religion) should be the moral compass for all Americans... although many of those in the 'Moral Majority' do not appear to have passed any of the classes Jesus has taught them about humanity. Death Sentences and War are not part of Jesus' curriculum... if I am wrong, please point me to the section in the New Testament that references Jesus as the Prince of War.
About the only thing I agree with Bush on... these days... is immigration. I believe that it is way to difficult to round-up all the Illegal Immigrants without instituting Nazi like tactics and that a humanitarian approach is needed to satisfy the the business needs for low cost labor without impacting the social services of our nation. We need to realize that they are people first.
To call Bush a 'Liberal' is simply trying to toss him over the fence into the enemy's backyard in order to distance himself with your political affiliation. Like it or not... Bush is a Republican and stands for the extreme end of the Conservative side of the spectrum.

great, we all agree that we don't like him...i don't think he's an idiot, an asshole, a heyseed, whatever...but i'm not a big fan. can't we move past the debate about this guy and see the bigger picture when it comes to politics?

Bush is a Republican, but a liberal one. He's the furthest thing from a Reagan conservative. His immigration stance is out of whack with most of America, he failed to veto McCain Feingold, he's a socialist when it comes to education, and beyond all else, is spineless. He let's the left wing media define him, and has no self-respect. he's unpopular b/c he's pathetic. He's relentlessly bullied every day and has refused to stand up for himself. Dude needs to grow a spine.

Well I guess when you have made glaring error after glaring error you really don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to defending yourself. Spine or not there is only so much you can do.

    Sure I'll just list them.

    No Child Left Behind
    Prescription Drug Plan
Cronism (sp?) that led to unqualified individuals holding important jobs. I know all presidents do this but Hurrican Katrine really blew up in his face because of this.
    Misleading country to war
Shifting focus from Afghanistan to Iraq
    Mismanagement of war
    Luis Posada Carilles case
Amend constitution to prevent gay marriage

gotta hand it to you Jersey fans...you let me into the owner's suite last year during game 7, when pj was playing....if we would have won, it would have been the greatest night of my life! but we didn't :( you guys don't seem to hate buffalonians, and don't seem to be as arrogant as NY'ers...so you're ok with me :) actually, i'd rather play ottawa than jersye b/c i know we can skate with them...i hate watching the sabres try and beat an elite goalie and the trap..reference the last two series.
