You're right - that sounds more like what the other side does. The only people we should try to get even with...
...are those who've helped us.

Yes,
brutaly beating and EXECUTING "SUSPECTED" Al Qaeda "terrorists" ... what a SUCCESS STORY ... so much for the course of justice ... looks like that justice is now simply the blunt butt of a assault rifle ... or twenty rounds exiting the barrels of angry militian men's rifles ... turning unconvicted men in to swiss cheese ...
I am truly ashamed of our government.
I feel like Alex Jones ... I've actually gotten a little teary in the past couple of days, reading and viewing some of this shit.If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?0 -

once we grasp this, progress will be astounding
You're preaching to the choir here. I think the same thing - hence my views on opening the borders.
I was trying to make that point in an abstract way to the original poster. The only people we should try to get even with...

This sort of thing has been a constant of American CIA policy for the last 60 years. It is a way of culling threats without putting the USA Armed Forces in harms way. It has happened all over the world. In the 1950-80s the media (here in the USA) turned a blind eye to it or reported it as guerilla fighting/civil unrest/what have you. Lately more and more of these USA backed mercenary groups have been outed by the media. Not a big deal unless you want to debate the value of someone that gets paid more then the average solider and has much looser rules of engagement representing our country (wether in uniform or not, they are representing USA intrests abroad and the local populations where they operate understand where they are getting their orders from). Washington backed gangs killing without regard and making bad situations in other countries many times worse, especially in South America where they are supposedly fighting the "Drug War". There is no drug war. They are in Columbia, Brazil, Venezuela and others to keep them destabilized and from becoming a larger economic threat to our piece of the pie. A 30 year policy of holding down a whole continent and we wonder why people like Hugo Chavez are getting elected and foreign relations with so many South American countries are so poor at the moment.
So yeah it sucks, its deplorable, but it might also be occassionaly necessary and of some benefit to us. (you will never see any of these benefits in the news or talked about politically because supposedly these people don't exsist, but when a government complains that US mercs slaughtered a village of civilians that will get covered for sure)
Sorry if that makes no sense."The really important thing is not to live, but to live well. And to live well meant, along with more enjoyable things in life, to live according to your principles."

But it is a big deal. The big deal is that the U.S. government brought Blackwater into an American city as a legitimate police force. Regardless of anyone's feelings about what happen in N.O. You need to recognize that this was a test of powers, a prelude of what can be done in a declared national emergency. The only saving grace in N.O. was that the eyes of the nation/world was there because Blackwater had absolutely no respect for the presence of the national guard authority.
The most important fact with Blackwater's presence in N.O. was that it took them out of the shadows and gave them recognition as a legitimate business enterprise that was being used inconjunction with U.S. military, national, and local enforcement activities. Blackwater allows organizations like the CIA, NSA, DIA and their foreign counterpart organizations to openly, legally and without stigma to hire people for "work".
Blackwater is now an internationally, renowned, legal "security" firm. Kinda like an "escort" business where on paper the only service provided is conversation. The unwritten law is, whatever else is negotiated is not the responsibility of the company but the profits from such activities are those of the company.
Psst, since Blackstone Group is the organization that brought out the Hiltons expect complete privacy (not) at your next stay.SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.0 -
America is like totally awesome at killing people it doesn't think should live.
That's just like...so friggin modern and cool...
Those pranksters....always redefining the meaning of hip
war chic...Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

puremagic,
not really sure what blackwater security having a contract in N.O. has to do with this but yes Corporations that are essentially mercenary outfits, being sent to work in American cities is frightening. As I said I think the debate to be had is how can we pay American soliders so little to play by the rules, wear the uniform, salute the flag and so on and then hire a thug (american or non-) pay him more and then have no control over the actions he perpetrates as an agent of this country.
psst, I never stayed in the Hilton chains, always seemed a little slutty to me"The really important thing is not to live, but to live well. And to live well meant, along with more enjoyable things in life, to live according to your principles."

A little piece of you
The little peace in me
Will die
For this is not America
Blossom falls to bloom
This season
Promise not to stare
Too long
For this is not a miracle
There was a time
A storm that blew so pure
For this could be the biggest sky
And I could have
The faintest idea
Snowman melting
From the inside
Falcon spirals
To the ground
So bloody red
Tomorrows clouds
A little piece of you
The little piece in me
Will die
For this is not America
There was a time
A wind that blew so young
For this could be the biggest sky
And I could have the faintest idea
This could be the biggest sky
This could be a miracle
This could be etc0
